Question about 2001 Toyota Echo

Toyota Echo A/C Vibration

My 2003 Toyota Echo produces a loud vibration with the A/C on at engine speeds of about 1800 - 2000 RPM. This occurs both in Drive and Park. The sound is coming from the right side of the engine compartment. The noise disappears at lower and higher RPM. it does not occur with the A/C off.

Thanks. But that is an expensive suggestion. If the compressor bearings were failing, I would expect the vibration to be over a larger RPM range. The sound is more like something is loose and knocking, or like a loud relay chattering, than a rotational bearing problem which I would expect to have a squeaking sound.

Change the a/c compressor's bearing or service the compressor.

My 01 Echo started to make a loud screeching sound when I turned on the A/C and progressively got worse. It got so bad it even made noises when I ran the fan only. Nothing I tried worked, resin on belt, replacing belts, etc., and everyone I asked had no answers. Then a strange thing happened, I replaced the spark plugs and the noises went away. Now I may get a few noises if I am stopped with the A/C running.

Toyota Lacruiser MY10 200 series has a vibration at 1000/1200rpm at 55 to 60KPH slightly more pressure on the throttle and the vibration disappears.

If you can drive this speed at such low RPM I think you are "lugging" the engine so badly it can't handle the load.

There is a recurring loud squeak from under the hood. What is it?

May be a worn on loose drive belt that squeaks as the engine idle speeds up as you change gear. Spray the belt with WD40 or similar . If this stops the squeak tighten or replace the belt.

How to adjust idle speed on toyota ECHO

DO NOT ADJUST IDLE SPEED! You have an issue with the engine and need to take it to be fixed. Idle speed is set by the manufacturer and should never be adjusted.

2003 hyundai starex mt, body vibration occurs everytime i shift the gear, (up and down) what is the ideal speed before i shift the gear for this car, thanks in advance

Hi M, Please describe in more detail what problem you are experiencing. Vibration is not correct at any speed. The gears can be changed at more or less any speed, as long as the engine maximum RPM is not exceeded and at slow speeds the engine does not labour by selecting too high a gear. Regards John

Have a 1995 ford heavy 250, 7.3 diesel, recently had fan belt replaced and now getting a loud high pitched vibration noise when accelerating it occurs between 1000 and 1500 Rpm and goes away at higher...

sounds like your fan clutch may be failing, remove the drive belt and manually spin all the pulleys by have listen for noise and feel for looseness in the bearings
