The cable to the water valve that allows hot water from cooling system to circulate the heating part may be stuck or broken or the valve itself may be stuck. The cable may also have slipped and become too loose so it won't operate properly, last alternative is an air lock in the water system

03 grand am ac wont blow cold air

Two things are very likely to be your problem. Freon or compressor. Turn on the ac on cold and see if the compressor is engaging, if it is and stops and goes or if it doesn't. try to check the compression on the low side of your ac, the smallest plug where you service the ac. Or take it to an ac professional to get it refilled or checked. Remember, just because its blowing air, it doesn't mean its working. There are fans inside the car that push the cold air inside your vehicle and most of the time these will work, but that's not the only part required to blow cold air inside your car, the compressor is what makes the air cold.

2004 mini cooper (not s) I'm only getting cold air from the middle passenger side vent....all other vents blow warm...

I would have the AC system re charged with fresh 134a. You can also have that system tested for leaks.

Hi the garage has just charged the alternator on our 2004 Mini Cooper as the battery light was coming on. The heater was working fine and blew hot air prior to this. The heater is now blowing only cold air...

Ask garage if they removed and water hoses to swap alternator.Needs proper bleeding after draining. Minis prone to water loss and overheats...dont drive till sorted...got a 59 plate cooper in workshop now...needing full engine due to overheats. Very important to bleed properly and pressure test to ensure no leake ( usually fron thermostat housing.

Why mini cooper 03 overheats while the AC is on?

Check to see if the electric cooling fans are working. Some of the fans have 2 speeds and some need to operate on high speed constantly when the air is on. High speed could be a burnout.

There should be a temperature sensor, a fan Relay, and then the electric cooling fans.

2003 Mini Cooper S A/C doens't work

Also, make sure the correct a/c buttons are depressed.
Recirculated air, a/c button etc. lower temp.

The AC will NOT blow cold if the radiator fan is not running....period.

Persue the fan problem FIRST.

I would try the least expensive thing first, the pressure switch. Pretty much everything takes a signal from it.
If the pressure switch circuit is open, the fan stays on. If the DME, gets no signal that there is pressure in the line (where the switch is mounted), you get no cycling at the compressor.
You will have to evac and recharge the system after changing the switch, which any decent shop can do.

My mini cooper is blowing cold air inside when the car is hot and it start overheating

Clarence,
your mini-cooper may just need a new thermostat. if the thermostat in your car is the original, then 4 years is a goodly amount of time for any thermostat to last. Thermostats fail in 2 ways: (A) stuck open, which causes engine to warm really slowly, and (b) stuck closed, causing overheating and
causing the heater to blow cold air - since the heated coolant can't get past the closed thermostat to
circulate through the heater core (a small radiator-like device used to heat the interior of your car).
Your car's thermostat has failed in mode (B).
Your cost: $5-$15 at any auto parts store.
Project complexity: any handy person could teach themselves to replace a thermostat.

'03 MINI Cooper AC blows cool air for a short period then starts to warm up. What may be causing this? & Can I use off the shelf coolant to recharge AC?

I am not sure if this helps one yes you can use the recharge kits sold at the auto stores as long as they are compatable you will know this because it will say under the hood and secondly i would check all the wire connectors that are directly connected to the ac compessor i just fixed a car where the sesor coming from the thermostat housing was broken and the ac didnt work at all because of that hope this helps ya

Clear out the drain tube. May be able to do it with a coat hanger, or get someone to blow it out with some shop air.
