Check the linkage! Make sure that everything is tight and that when you put the shifter in first gear, that the linkage is actually fully engaging first gear. It may need some adjustment. Good luck! Bill

No. The synchro hub is worn and where one is worn so may the others be. Try a yard or small ads or ebay if you can't find a local specialist. The cost of genuine toy parts may make an exchange box a better bet.

SOURCE: hilux leaking gear oil

There is a plug on the side of the gear box. Pull plug out. You should be able to stick your finger into the hole and touch the gear oil. If not, check on your owner manual and see what type of oil goes back into the gear box. Fill it up until it start coming out of the plug hole.put plug back in, & back to riding.

Are when you go to the oil change shop???? Get them to show you where it is at, and get them to top it off for you.???

SOURCE: Hi both rear windows in my toyota hilux surf which

The only way would be to remove the door pannels and find whats wrong, disconnet electric motors if it is equipped they had both mechanical and electrical so which do you have? Do you just want to get them up or fix them? If it's electric check your fuses first, that should be the first thing you do. If it's mechanical you will have to remove the window crank and the arm rest and lock button by turning it counter clockwise if round if a long square lock knob cover will lift over it. once it is off check the slide rails to see if they have come apart if they have it can be fixed but you will have to take it to a welding shop to get it spot welded. If the Gears that operate are stripped you will have to replace them, if the rollers have come out at the bottom rail you will have to replace the rollers or insatll them back in the rail. Let me know what you have and I will give you some information for this problem.

SOURCE: leaking gearbox toyota hilux 4wd can,t find out

Check if the filler and drain plug is tightened, aswell as the reverse and 4wd(light indicator) switches on the gearbox is not leaking through the section where the wiring enters the switch, check the tail end of the g/box rhere the the drive/prop. shaft enters the g/box, a oil seal is located there and on the transfer case driveshaft driving the front wheels.

Do i need new cables my van difficult to go from 5th to 4th gear 2005 2.0 citreon relay

The difficulty you're experiencing shifting gears from 5th to 4th gear in your 2005 Citroen Relay van could be caused by a number of issues, including a problem with the gear cables. However, it's important to note that there could be other potential causes as well such as worn synchromesh, gearbox linkage problem, or even a problem with the transmission.
It's best to take your van to a qualified mechanic to diagnose the issue and determine the cause. The mechanic will perform an inspection of the gearbox and gear cables, and may also test drive the vehicle to confirm the problem.
If the gear cables are found to be worn or damaged, they will need to be replaced. Keep in mind that it's not an easy or cheap task to fix it, so it's best to get a professional help.
In the meantime, you should avoid trying to force the gear shift and instead, shift gears gently and smoothly.

On a slight ascent the gear lever jumps out of the 5th gear.

There is quite a long list of possible reasons and most of them require gearbox removal to fix.

Weak or broken selector detents, weak or broken synchrohub detents, loose, worn or maladjusted selector fork or mechanism. excessive endfloat in a shaft, gear or hub.
Worn synchrohub teeth is a very common cause.

It would be worth checking the external linkage for possible fouling or maladjustment first.

Mazda bravo b2600 gearbox growles and grumbles. cant select 2nd or 4th gear. 1st, 3rd,5th & reverse ok.

I am sorry to tell that the gearbox need to have some major repair. It is also not advisable to continue driving as the gearbox can breakdown completely leaving you stranded. At least one the cluster drive gears in the gearbox is damaged (gear tooth stripped off) that will result in that only some of the gears being able to be selected. The broken off tooth are still in the gearbox and due to the oil movement in the gearbox it can be "washed up " in between to engaged gears destroying those as well. This will happen up to the point where there are no gear selection at all.

Terrano gearbox keeps jumping out of overdrive and

Nissan Terrano's have an Electronic Computer that controls the gearbox. It is hidden behind the left hand rear Speaker box, right hard up against the rear seat back rest. This system controls all functions regarding the gearbox and it's rev rates. If your vehicle is shifting back on long drives then it is possible that the computer sees any slight increase in revs as a desire to "Kickback" the gearbox to a lower gearing, hence it dropping out of overdrive. Unfortunately a gearbox specialist with a computer "Plug-in" is needed to fix this, but it is fixable. This problem should not be too expensive in comparison with a new gearbox.

I have a 95 Ford Escort that jumps out of fifth gear

If it will not stay in 5th gear the only solution is to remove the transmission and have it repaired. There isn't a way to fix it while it's in the vehicle.
