How to remove the front and rear pipe assembly for a 1994 Cadillac Deville 4.9

Rear Compartment Relay Center
In the left rear of the passenger compartment, behind the rear seat, on the electronics bay
Rear Compartment Fuse Block

Hello: One way is to remove the cover on the front bottom of the engine/cradle assembly. Then put a jack under the center of the cradle at the front of the engine. Remove the two front cradle bolts (18mm) and lower the cradle/engine assembly down, this will give more room to access the clamps that hold the pipes on. It is not an easy task.

The Oxygen Sensor is located: Under hood, center, front engine area, above exhaust pipe flange, mounted in exhaust manifold
Application: Front

Under hood, center, rear engine area, above exhaust pipe flange, mounted in exhaust manifold
Application: Rear

1994 Cadillac Deville 4.9L SFI 8cyl

Removal & installation - 4.5L and 4.9L Engines

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle securely on jackstands.
3. Remove the starter motor shield.
4. Remove the exhaust front and rear pipe assembly.
5. Remove the flexplate inspection cover.
6. Disconnect the solenoid 'S' terminal nut and battery cable nut.
7. Unbolt the starter motor mounting bolts, and remove the starter motor.

To install:

1. Install the starter motor, and tighten to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
2. Install the solenoid 'S' terminal nut. Tighten the nut to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
3. Install the battery cable nut and tighten to 12 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
4. Install the flexplate inspection cover, the front and rear exhaust pipe assembly and the starter motor shield.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

BACKUP LAMP REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Pull down the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear in Trunk/Liftgate.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Remove the fasteners that secure the backup lamp assembly.
4. Remove the backup lamp assembly.
5. Remove the bulb assembly.
6. Remove the bulb.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the bulb into the bulb socket.
2. Install the bulb assembly into the backup lamp assembly.
3. Pull the wire harness through the body and seat the grommet.
4. Install the backup lamp assembly to the rear compartment lid.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the fasteners in order to secure the backup lamp assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).
6. Connect the electrical connector.
7. Install the rear compartment lid trim.

Not a lot to it. Remove top and bottom balljoint's, steering track-rod end and brake assembly. You should'nt need to remove the brake pipe as it is flexi and when you have assemply unscrewed from the hup there should be enough movement in the pipe to let the hub come off past it.

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim.
3. Pull back on the rear compartment trim panel.
4. Unplug the lamp connector from the rear compartment lid wiring harness.
5. Press the grommet out of the rear compartment lid.
6. Remove the nuts retaining the lamp assembly to the rear compartment lid.
7. Remove the bulb.
