An automatic doesn't have a flywheel, it has a flex plate instead. The torque converter makes it act a lot like a flywheel, though.

But... you're probably talking about the flex plate or the ring gear around its edge. This is going to require removing the engine from the vehicle - there's no other possible way to get the flex plate out.

Once the engine is sitting on the shop floor, it's a simple job to replace the flex plate - first you unbolt the torque converter and set it aside, then you unbolt the flex plate from the crankshaft. Bolt the new flex plate onto the crankshaft, bolt the torque converter to the new flex plate, and put the engine back into the vehicle.

How will towing a new 5th Wheel with 1994 7.3L IDI (non powerstroke) Turbo Diesel be?

You have plenty of truck to tow that thing around. I would have the 20 year old tranny serviced and ask the transmission shop if its going to hold up to the pressure.

Hi how can I increase my horse power and torg. on my 1990 7.3 no power stroke?

Your 1990 will have an IDI 7.3 diesel engine in it and there isn't much you can do. You can turn up the fuel, but that is dangerous without gauges. Another option is to install an aftermarket turbo. If you want to turn up the fuel here is a link to the page that explains it. MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL A PYROMETER ( EGT gauge) FIRST!!!

My b/f has a 1990 Fleetwood Cadillac...He believes the fly wheel may be broken...Where is the fly wheel and are they easy to replace?

the fly wheel is located at the back of the engine block. You will have to drop the transmission to fix it. The hardest part of this job is dropping the transmission. the fly wheel is held on by 8 bolts. bery simple. If your b/f is not a mechanic, he can get a book called the Chiltons manual for that car. It will give him step by step instructions on how to replace it, and what tools are needed.

We have an 87 4Runner. We replaced the turbo 4cyl

It should only start in P and N. Is this a 4 wheel drive? Check the transfer case if it is. If not check to make sure torque converter bolts were put in. If they weren't it won't do anything.

How to change flywheel on 1990 300zx non turbo?

pull the transmission. remove the torque converter (automatics) or clutch and pressure plate (standards), the bolts for the flywheel are under that. make sure you replace the flywheel with the proper one especially if it's a standard.
