K&W Trans X is very effective product but it just does not know when to stop working and could cause subsequent problems if ran too long. It is proven to soften rubber seals & componentry inside transmissions. I have used this product before and had some success with it but I would recomend a 100% fluid and filter change after running this on a short term basis. Overfilling 16 ozs (half quart) should pose no short term problems the time the product should be used. In the end the 100% fluid change could wind up being as helpfull as the additive due to the high detergent concentration in tranny fluids.....

LubeGuard ONLY. Product description can be seen here. All other additives have some combination or other of seal softeners which can shorten the life of the transmission. As a former rebuilder, it is the only thing I'll pour into a transmission. I know, I know... others will take issue with this, but your transmisson is not something you want to pour a bottle of **** into! I purchase from a trans rebuilding supply, but I think that O'reilley Auto Parts has it in our local store.

Lubegard. Just put it in. Alittle overfilled 1/4 of a quart, won't hurt anything. You want lubegard in the red bottle.

Can I flush my motor with kerosene for noisy lifters

Hey I have heard it works! The examples I personally know involved seized motor! I would use some automatic transmission fluid though carb in the old days, Now. I would add to fuel tank! The amount should be minimal less cup for 15 gallons fuel ratio! I would check on the correct amount! I do remember another additive at the Car Parts place you add to fuel! Not really sure how much Kerosene to use either! Its a oil based product your lifter clacking is much worst problem than a additive cleanser solution in my opinion I would do a compression check to better know the extent of the problem! Wishing you the best! I am available to chat more on this or other issues! quick

How does one add transmission fluid to 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo?

Look for the dipstick where you check the transmision fluid level. If you need any you pour it down the dipstick hole. Add it in small amounts and check in between additions, its really easy to overfill. Once overfilled a real pain to get it out.

Where do you put the automatic transmission fluid in

In the same hole the dipstick for the transmission is in. Small funnel works the best to minimize spillage. Also make sure you check the level of the transmission while the vehicle is in park and running and engine hot. Avoid over filling by adding small amounts at a time and re checking.

My 1997 chevy 2 door ls tahoe tranny shifts hard after i drive for a while

I had the same problem with my 1997 suburban. The transmission is building up excess pressure, its an internal problem that can only be fixed by repairing the transmission. However I drove my truck like that for about 4 years and got 300,000 miles before changing it by using a synthetic fluid and Lucas transmission additive.

What do i do with a leaky transmission?

Hi. I would check the transmission pan gasket for faults. This will more than likely be the culprit. It is best to raise the vehicle to get a good look under the area. Additionally, i would check the filter for tightness. If the filter somehow worked its way loose, it will cause a serious leak as well.

This must be corrected soon or there may be slippage in the gears during accelerating and decelerating. If for some reason the housing has cracked, this will lead to a total transmission replacement procedure.

Car won't go over 25 mph

this sounds like a transmission problem...maybe you have been pulling trailers-weight....check the fluid level and try to add a transmission fluid additive to correct any mild slipage...if not problem might be the tcv sensor...very easy to change....if not...ur transmission might be going....good luck..

1996 Tahoe error code P0700 detected at PepBoys

P0140 Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2) P1192 Post-catalyst Fuel Trim System Bank 1

Replace the O2 sensor after the catalytic Converter and check to make sure the wire harness and clips are not damaged. Also check the O2 sensor fuse in the fuse panel to make sure there not blown.
As for the p0700 code is a generic code and the ECM needs to re-calibrated for the performance upgrade in your transmission. It's common to happen when there are changes like the transmission fluid pressure has been altered which would give it a better and firmer shift, but the transmission reads the higher line pressure as a problem. If you take it to a good transmission shop with a tech2 scanner, the tech2 can change the transmission ECM parameters and that way it will recognize the higher transmission line as a norm.
Have done a few upgrades on the 4L60E with a common swap of the servo's with a corvette servo's ($45.00) to firm up the shift and raise the transmission line pressure to keep the slipping to a minimal and also bring down the shift points at WOT on the 1st-2nd shift to get going a bit faster (used Tech2 scanner).
Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Slips in first gear 2nd ok reverse is good i was told to drain and change filter and fliud would this help

It won't hurt. If it is the original transmission,it's getting worn and should have been changed around 60 to 80,000 miles. I would add a can of transmission additive like Lucas when I changed the fluid. It's probably also time to give some thought to what you are going to do next, because this is an early warning sign.
