So I own a 1999 Ford F 250 Super Duty XLT 5.4L. I've had it almost 2 years now, since this past winter I have a very bad vibration in the front end. It shows up at 50-80 km/h and happens between 1500 to 2000 RPM. If you fire the truck up and go to drive it revs up past 3000 RPM but you barely make it out of first gear and when it does shift its a lurch forward really rough. Another issue is it has no power when going nor when you are trying to go up hill. It powers out right quick on a hill and you have to shift it down to second gear just to be able to go. Can anyone at least give me an idea of what may be happening as I do not trust taking my truck to far out of town in the case something might happen. Thank you advance for anyone who may help me.
I do know there was a factory recall on these trucks due to a throttle problem, check with a main dealer, as for the shudder it could be the wheel balancing.
