The passenger rear window stopped rolling up and dow on its own. i am broke so im trying to repair it myself. the motors working fine but the cable that pulls the window up and down isnt broke but seems to...

You describe a window regulator which has broken. The regulator is constructed with pullys and a spool which the motor moves to either retract or extend the window slide up or down. They are always replaced -- never repaired. My search for an ILLUSTRATION or DIAGRAM was unsuccessful. However, if you choose to attempt repair, I suggest you remove the driver's side window regulator and compare it to the passenger side, AND IF you are mechanically talented, you could possibly repair it. Caution, the pullys are pastic and rivetted in place. if the plastic pully is broken, you'd have to find a suitable substitute and install it (either rivet or nut w/bolt/washer, etc.). If the cable is tangled up in the spool, again caution should be taken if you try to remove it as this may damage the spool. If the spool is damaged.... well, that's a horse of a different color. It stands to reason that assembly was/is possible, but disassembly is quite different. You'll just have to study/examine what's possible/achieveable with it.

My rear window motor is stuck on and wont stop making sounds will this drain my battery my vehicle is envoy 2004 xlu v8 the sound stays on even if the vehicle is shut off and im afraid if i leave it on all...

It will drain the battery. Sounds like a bad connection for the motor on the window. If you don't use these windows much it would be better to remove the fuse for them. Or access the motor to disconnect it until the connection can be traced down.

that is a cable driven window regulator and when the cable comes un done then it is broke and un repairable. you will need to swap it for a new one. very common issue with this style regulator and is a sealed system with no repair unless you real get into it. but the regulator are not that much and make no sense to try to repair a broken one. hope you make out okay and good luck.

if you have any more question please ask.

The passenger window came off the track. i need to remove the door panel and replace the window on the track/

My friend had 3 of 4 window lifts fail... the cable comes of the pullies and damages the plastic pully tracks. They're not repairable We bought new window lifts for iton the web. They're not too hard to replace. The aftermarket ones had crumby motors so we put the original motors off the broken lifts on. They've worked great since.

The right rear electric window won't roll up all

the window regulator is going bad,it has a up cable and a down cable so I would replace it before it wont go up at all, they are pretty inexpensive around $70.00 at a decent parts house, its a pretty simple job, remove the door panel, locate window to regulator bolts.remove them, take glass out thru top, locate 3 bolts that hold motor assy. remove them take bolts holding regulator in place remove them, take motor and regulator out thru holes in door.you can do it! have a good day DB

My 2003 Forester driver side window wont work.

You need power window regulator as the cable of the regulator is out its place ,

  1. Remove the gusset cover.
  2. Pull up the inner door handle cover toward you to remove the upper hook. Pull down it to remove the lower hook. Remove the inner door handle cover.
  3. Remove the power window switch assembly.
  4. Using a trim panel remover, remove the clips of the trim panel.
  5. Remove the speaker.
  6. Using a spatula, remove the door sealer.
  7. Remove the outer mirror assembly.
  8. Remove the front end of the door weatherstrip and gusset.
  9. Remove the stabilizers.
  10. Remove the rear end of the door weatherstrip (inner and outer).
  11. Operate the power windows switch so the bolts from the regular assembly are visible through the service holes. Remove the mounting nuts.
  12. Take out the door glass. CAUTIONDo not turn the regulator in closing direction after removal of the glass. Otherwise gear may be disengaged.
  13. Loosen the nuts to remove the rear sash.
  14. Disconnect the power window motor wiring harness.
  15. Loosen the four bolts and two nuts to pull out the regulator assembly.
  16. Remove the screws to remove the motor from the regulator assembly.
  17. Installation is the reverse order of removal.0759a6d.jpg23cb1e4.jpg
