Have 2008 chevy Malibu Ltz.past few days the dash will say "power steering "of course wheel gets tight. it's electric..not sure if the pump is going out or if it's the lines..how can someone tell?

The system can be scanned for faults, in the is case you need that test performed. The pump only runs when the computer control unit commands it to run it is on demand, this information comes from sensors in the system..

2010 ford fusion hyprid power steering went out

Power Steering - Hybrid The electric power assist steering system consists of:
  • power steering control module
  • electric motor
  • torque sensor
  • rack-and-pinion steering gear
The electric power steering system provides power steering assist to the driver by replacing the conventional hydraulic valve system with an electric motor coupled to the steering gear. The motor is controlled by an electronic control unit that senses the steering effort through the use of a torque sensor mounted between the steering column shaft and the steering gear. Steering assist is provided in proportion to the steering input effort and vehicle speed.

your best bet would be to have the ford dealer check it out !

Pas Ecu component making clicking sounds but not engaging power steering

Check the torque sensor on the steering column as that will show you if the sensor is knackered, if its ok then its the motor or ECU.

Location of speed sensor

1991 ?
no transmission stated, so my answers new are impossible....
why not say why you want this. the context really does help.
you or anyone can look it up. in the FSM.
many cars have 5 sensors.
here are all speed sensors
the engine has 3 speed sensors. (cam/crank speed and TDC)
the MPH (road speed sensor) is below.
my guess you have ECU DTCs for VSS?
why not state it , flat out so helper knows the full context.?
qoute FSM and alldata.com (log in and see for self)
the signal from the vehicle speed sensor is used by the ECU as well as the cruise control and automatic transaxle control units. Accords and Preludes use an external sensor mounted on top of the power steering speed sensor in the engine compartment. The power steering speed sensor is gear-driven and controls the steering boost in relation to the speed of the vehicle. An electric pulser unit is mounted on top of this unit and is coupled to it by a small shaft. The motion from the lower unit is transferred to the upper unit; the resultant electrical signal is sent to the appropriate control units.

How to change cam sensor on pontiac GR AM 3,4L 1999

Place a jack underneath the engine with a block of wood on it as to not damage the engine and pump up the jack just enough to keep the engine from sagging down. Then remove the engine mount near the power steering unit. Removing the motor mount doesn't have to be done, but it makes it easier to remove the power steering pump (your choice). Remove power steering pump and set it aside keeping all the hoses attached. Camshaft position sensor is located beneath power steering pump. It should be held on by 1 bolt if I remember right. Disconnect the 2 wire harness and remove sensor.

Sometimes it works then it will just go crazy and float

Sound like a problem with the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS); the signal from the vehicle speed sensor is used by the ECU as well as the cruise control and automatic transaxle control units. Accords and Preludes use an external sensor mounted on top of the power steering speed sensor in the engine compartment. The power steering speed sensor is gear-driven and controls the steering boost in relation to the speed of the vehicle. The motion from the lower unit is transferred to the upper unit; the resultant electrical signal is sent to the appropriate control units.

Its possible that you need to replaced.

Oil pressure gauge keeps fluxuating. Think it is the sensor. Want to know where the sensor is located on my 1994 lincoln continental

The oil sending unit is located below the power steering pump.
You can get to it by removing the alternator, then the three bolts around the power steering pump bracket. Remove the small pulley on the bracket and pull back on the power steering bracket. Look behind bracket and you will see the oil sending unit.

Disconnect the wire from the oil sending unit. Use a deep socket (1 1/16) to remove unit.

While you have unit remove, I would go ahead and use an oil pressure gauge to test the oil pump pressure.

Good luck and hope this helps
