Generally speaking, when you pop the hood you look at the back of the headlight assemblies where the connections are for electricity. You can unplug the harness for the lamp in question and unclip the lamp retainer and remove the lamp. When you are putting the new one in, make sure not to touch the glass because the lamps get VERY hot and can burst because of oils left from your skin.

matt

manufactuers put fuse panels insome wierd places . you may want to look on both ends of the dash ,under the dash, in the glove box, and under the rear seat. but back to the dash lights not working, do all the exterior lights work as they should? if so you may want to check the panel light dimmer switch to make sure you have power coming through it.

1995 Volvo 850 Turbo I neeed to recharge air conditioner however on line instruction show you must re-charge from hi pressure side and about half say recharge fro low pressure side which is correct.

You never ever charge any refrigerant system in the
world from the high side

Always the low side,as you want to add it in a gas form

If you invert the can & charge hi side ,liquid ref will

ruin the compressor, as it can't compress a liquid

1995 volvo 850 turbo wagon will not start all of a

You can check 2 things. 1., have someone in the car to turn the key to the start position. Tap the starter with a small hammer and see if it cranks. If it does, replace the starter. 2., have the battery tested as well as the connections to the battery. Corrosion builds and can cause heavy resistance to heavy loads(like starting). These are the 2 most likely causes. Let me know if you need further assistance.

96 Volvo 850 Turbo. Both headlights went out but the high beams work if I hold the switch back. Turn lights and running lights still work. Dash lights glitch slightly as well

there is a head lamp switch mounted to the steering column. it has died. to access it you have to remove the cover under the dash. remove the four bolts hold the steering column and let it drop down. find the switch usually behind and to the side of the ignition switch. there will be a rod giong to it from the handle. remove and replace the switch and assemble in reverse order

My volvo 850 turbo boils the water in the reservoir to the point that water fiend a way out but blown any hoses. then a get low collant level and engine beggins to over heat...it look like a head gasket...

Unfortunately, it sounds like you need a head gasket. The system will hold pressure that long because they normally run at 20 psi. Given the mileage on the car and the model, this is a common failure. I happen to own one myself and have been through the same thing.
