Headlamp bulb replacement. Driver side head lamp is out. Bought new bulbs. Owners manual says to contact dealership for replacement. How do I replace the bulb myself? 2007 Mazda6

I ASSUME they are just regular headlights....not HID....correct??? just take off the cover and there is a small clip, just unclip it and remove bulb. If they are HID, then you better not try it.

What is the process for replacing the headlamp

Replacing headlamp bulbs
Handle a halogen headlamp bulb carefully
and keep out of children’s reach. Grasp the
bulb only by its plastic base and do not touch the
glass. The oil from your hand could cause the bulb
to break the next time the headlamps are
operated.
If the bulb is accidentally touched, it should be
cleaned with rubbing alcohol before being used.
To remove the headlamp bulb:
1. Make sure headlamp switch is in OFF position,
then open the hood. If you are replacing the driver
side headlamp, unclip the electronic module on the
right side of the battery and move it out of the way.
2. Locate the headlamp bulb through the hole in the
upper radiator support assembly.
3. Release clip and
disconnect the
electrical connector
from the bulb.
4. Remove the bulb
retaining ring by
rotating it
counterclockwise
(when viewed from the
rear) about 1/8 turn to
free it from the bulb socket, and slide the ring off
the plastic base. Keep the ring to retain the new
bulb.
5. With out turning, remove the old bulb from the
lamp assembly by gently pulling it straight out of the
lamp assembly.

To install the new bulb:
1. With the flat side of
the bulb’s plastic base
facing upward, insert
the glass end of the
bulb into the lamp
assembly. You may
need to turn the bulb left or right to align the
grooves in the plastic base with the tabs in the lamp
assembly. When the grooves are aligned, push the
bulb into the lamp assembly until the plastic base
contacts the rear of the lamp assembly.
2. Install the bulb retaining ring over the plastic base
until it contacts the rear of the socket by rotating
clockwise until you feel a “stop.”
3. Install the electrical connector into the rear of the
plastic base until it snaps, locking it into position.
4. Turn the headlamps on and make sure they work
properly. If the headlamp was correctly aligned
before you changed the bulb, you should not need to
align it again.

Drivers side headlamps are dim the passenger side is fine went over everything i can think of replaced both bulbs, new headlamp connection, has 12v to the bulb.the headlamps are aftermarket enzo projecters

You are losing power to the head lamp due to a bad wire or a connection or a bad grounding. Check wiring along the harness. see if if it gets warm after the lapmp has been on for a while. Getting 12 V volts without the bulb is not an indication that it gets 12V when the lamp is on. It could be a dirty fuse holder, again it will get warm if it is bad after you have left the lamps on for a while

Head lamp keeps burning out. replaced head lamp at

You either have a bad ground or the bad electrical connection at the light socket is "simulating" a bad ground. This is putting a high resistance on the bulb and it's taking it's toll by burning out the bulb. I would start with a new socket, and CHECK the ground. If you still have the issue, I would run another complete ground wire and not even worry about checking the ground itself. the Stick

How do you remove the head lamp assembly on a 1993

1. Make sure headlamp is off and open hood.
2. Taurus model years 1990-1999: you must remove the whole headlamp to replace the bulb. Not a horrible task. Just annoying.
3. Facing the driver's side headlamp, and looking at the headlamp itself, at clock positions 8, 11 and 1 are the headlight housing screws. They all look the same. Using a 10mm socket wrench, remove these 3 screws and set them aside.
4. Just to the right of the "11 o'clock" housing screw is a bolt (same hexagonal 10mm sized top as the housing screws). This just needs a few turns to loosen it.
5. Gently pull the whole headlight forward. Now you can get at the bulb.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb. Now the headlamp is free to work with. Remove the bulb, replace with a new bulb, make sure the bulb housing cylinder is in place and reconnect the electical.
7. Place headlamp back into position. Line up screw holes. Tighten the bolt. Replace housing screws and tighten.
8. Passenger side headlamp is mirror image of driver's side. Screws at 11, 1 and 4 o'clock positions. Bolt should be to the left of the "1 o'clock" housing screw.

I have 2006 Grand Prix How do I change head lamp?

Caution Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal injury:
Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing the bulb.
Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete. Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb. Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass. Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb. Properly dispose of the used bulb. Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children.
Raise the hood.
Remove the headlamp assembly bolts from the upper fascia support.
Slide the headlamp assembly outward enough to release the headlamp bracket tabs from the slots in the upper fascia support.
Position the headlamp assembly away from the vehicle body to access the electrical connector.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly.
Remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb/socket.
Remove the headlamp bulb/socket retainer ring from the headlamp, by turning counterclockwise.
Remove the headlamp bulb/socket from the headlamp assembly.
