Problem for Chevrolet 1988 S-10

My 88 s10 cranks but unless i pump gas pedle it

my 88 s10 cranks but unless i pump gas pedle it shuts off. changed fuel filter and throtle body sensor still wont idle .press gas pedle it stalls out must pump pedle to keep it running

what engine does it have? 2.8 ? if so replce pick up coil in distributor /4.3 and 2.5 will do this also it affects pulse to injectors and on time firing
