Question about BMW 525
It is odd that the fuel pump will go out that fast unless just by chance you have a defective unit. Check whether the pump works if directly connected to the battery, if it works it could be the wiring or the relay. Check out the electrical from the pump to the fuel injection relay and fuse. Check if there are no corroded insulation or loose connection of some sort. You may be shorting out and it may occur before or after the fuse in the circuit. Your voltage to the fuel pump should be constant and correct. Other than that check also if there is build up of sludge in the tank if it caused some clog which may had your pump work harder.
