Need more info. If you mean the aux rad. fan. This fan should be on any time the A/C is on and stay on. But the most likely problem with a compressor clutch short cycling is low freon. The compressor is controled by safty switches, one is a low pressure switch. When the clutch cycles off/on quicker than normal at crusing speeds or if you rev up the engine from idle and the clutch drops out, this could mean low freon. Try to see if this is whats happining. Start the car, turn on the A/C and watch the compressor clutch as someone else rev's up the engine. if the clutch drops out after a few seconds that just might mean low on freon.

2000 caddy Seville ...after starting and engine warm turn on the heater and it blows cold air. Fan works / waiting for hot air and then all the sudden it kicks in. Engine at normal temp

Low coolant, if there is an air pocket in the engine it will make it to the heater core. Once there , the air coming out is cold/cool. Once the coolant fills the heater core, it gets hot. If the coolant is fine hot or cold, then have the HVAC system scanned.

2003 Lincoln LS hot air while stopped cold while driving

Hello
Based on what you have said and my 30 years a Ford dealer tech I believe you have a slightly low AC system refrigerant charge due to a small leak at the AC compressor or the AC line connections. I would have a shop hook up a set of gauges to monitor the pressures at idle and see just how low it is. DO NOT ADD UNTIL YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IS NEEDED, YOU CAN LOCK UP THE COMPRESSOR.

Why my ac in my cadillac deville 1996 blows hot air?

If your low on freon then the A/C wont come on? for a 1996 you will need to get it serviced if you havent its normal to loose 10% freon a year,

A/c works fine in the morning, blows out vents at 55* - 59*. later in the day, and as it gets hotter outside, a/c blows hot air. What's up?

could be slightly low on charge-or cooling fan is not working-as the temp outside goes up the ac needs to be more efficent to blow cold air--and really 55 is not that cold--depending on outside conditions should be able to blow at low to mid 40 s

Air conditioner in 1992 Buick Lesabre wasn't blowing cold air

If you would take the car to Auto Zone, ask the employee to show you where the "low pressure cut off switch" is located and ask him to supply you with a small jumper wire, it is possible the a/c charge is not enough if the low press. switch didnt come on to turn the compressor on so you need to jump it across the two wire terminals with a wire and the car running on high fan/a/c full cold, then install another can of freon and feel the cold, the system should typically hold approx. 2 2/4 cans of 134a freon to be full if it was empty.

I have a 2004 2.7 6 chrysler sebring lxi. ac blows really cold and periodically just starts blowing warm air. is there a relay or temp. sensor that might be going out and through a malfunction shuts down...

Cooling fans working? If you notice the air getting warm mostly while stopped, probaby cooling fans not turning on. if the fans are working properly, may be low on freon and need a recharge.

Try spinning the knob real fast in either direction. Sounds stupid but it worked for me.

possible low charge, possible leak, auxillary fans possibly not coming on,check you see when you turn your a/c on,do the fans get really loud occasionally, all the time,or not at all,if not at all ,you have a problem with the aux fans not coming on-
