The O2 sensor is on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter. Disconnect the wire and slip a box end wrench (preferably of the 9 point variety) over the top...get the car as high off the ground as you can (safely!!!) to make the job easier...Sorry I don't remember the (metric) size of the O2 sensor right off the top of my head..just unscrew the old one (warm pipe) and screw in the new... DO NOT use ANY kind of sealer!! Good luck and keep me posted. be glad to help.

It is the O2 Sensor. Are you sure you replaced the correct one or have you replaced all of them. My vehicle has four. Based on what I have found it appears your car has four also. Have you replace those or just the one you can see. You will have one each at the Catalytic converters, whioch are called the down stream sensors. You will also have two upstream sensors on the exhaust pipes near the exhaust manifolds.

1998 Saturn SL2 engine light

Possible Causes
The following are malfunctions that could cause a rich condition:
^ Fuel pressure too high. Perform fuel pressure test.
^ Leaking fuel injector(s). - Perform pressure leak down test.
^ Vacuum leak around the MAP sensor grommet.
^ Oxygen sensor contamination.
^ Restricted exhaust or air intake.
^ Fuel Vapor Canister saturated with fuel.

IMPORTANT:
If the front oxygen reading voltage is above 600 mV and the rear HO2S is above 600 mV all the time, the O2 sensors are probably not
at fault.
