How do I replace transmission filter on 2009 Pontiac G6 3.6L v6 engine

Please check within the transmission near the valve body assembly. This is where the shift solenoids should be.

Left front of the engine compartment, near the left headlight assembly .What engine does your vehicle have ?

I'm going to take a wild guess an say you have 3.8l

L32
Engine - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.8L, SFI, V6 L32
Engine - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.8L, SFI, V6 Supercharged, GM

If it's the 3.8l L32
Engine - Gas, 6 Cylinder, 3.8L, SFI, V6 Supercharged, GM you don't have a TCM module . you have the PCM

Could be as simple as a fuel filter.

I bought a automatic transmission filter kit to fix the leak but it's still dripping from the pan

02 sensor , replace .

All TEMPS......5W-30 SAE 5W-30 is preferred.

CAPACITIES: Engine, without filter..........3.8 liters, Add extra oil when replacing filter. After
refill check oil level. Oil Drain Plug.....15-20 ft/lbs

to change the filter involves dropping off the sheet metal pan on the transmission, the filter is inside mounted to the part called the Valve Body.

White plug may indicate coolant getting into the combustion chamber, test it for a head gasket leak

Check you oil level sounds like its low, other wise your looking for new transmission.

Under the engine in the front you will see an aluminum cover.There is a square hole that fits a 3/8 ratchet remove this first.The new filter comes with a drain adapter that snaps in the hole under the cover.This lets the oil in the housing drain.Then take a oil filter cup wrench or a big channel lock to twist of the larger portion.Then change the filter and o-ring and reinstall.Make sure the o-ring on the square drive cover is there also
