1999 Hyundai Accent A/C belt broke?

I was driving and my A/C belt was squealing and then it just stopped working all together and was blowing hot air...so I shut the air off of course. When I was able to stop and look at the pulleys sure enough a belt was missing....I want to know if this is going to cause other problems besides my A/C because there were no other visible problems when this happened and I am able to drive the car. And I would like to fix this myself but don't know if this is a do it yourself project or not

You can if you don't have a serpentine belt/ 1 belt. But more than likely it does.

2003 hyundai accent producing loud squeaks only at start up especially in the cold

I had a bad power steering belt on a 2001, same issue. The problem is that the after market belts don't have enough thickness and the right taper to get sufficient grip on the pulley, so the new belt squeals more! I had to get a Hyundal belt which works well.

Hyundai accent squealing very loud

You need to replace the belt.
Once a belt gets glazed it will slip no matter how tight it is.

Timing belt broke on hyundai accent how do i replace it and the timing marks

1st you may want make sure that's not an interference engine. if it is then chances are the valves are bend in the head. changing the timing belt probably won't help then. If its not an interference head, then you would need a timing mark diagram which can be found online. be very careful that all marks are aligned. when finshed installing the timing belt, rotate engine by hand twice and re-align marks before putting the rest back together! hyundai should be able to tell u if the engine runs interference or not.

Was driving Hyundai Accent 2002. Suddenly the power steering stopped working, the emergency brake light and battery light came on. Car will now not turn over. Under the hood, some belts seem to be missing....

Your belt broke, either something is wrong with a pulley and caused the belt to brake or the belt was just old and broke on its own. Either way needs a belt put back on then see if anything else is wrong

How do I change an alternator belt on a '99 hyundai accent?

Call your local National Guard Armory, Fire Station, State College auto program or High School Auto Shop and ask if they have somebody that would come put it on for you. Ask you pastor who the "auto guy" in the church is, if you don't have a church call the biggest church closest to you and ask the receptionist if they have an "auto guy" that would help you. The local senior center or VFW hall have "auto guys" . If you were within 50 miles of 83501 I'd come do it for you.

Removal & Installation Raise and support the vehicle.
    Remove the engine splash shield.
  1. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise to release the drive belt tension.
  2. Remove the drive belt from the alternator.
  3. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the accessory drive pulleys.
To install:
  1. Install the drive belt to the accessory drive pulley.
  2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.
  3. Install the drive belt to the alternator.
  4. Ensure the drive belt is properly aligned and seated into the grooves of the accessory drive pulleys.
  5. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner
  6. Install the engine splash shield.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

It's O.K. to ask for some help.

Over-heating after squealing. could it be a broken alternator bel

Your serpentine belt broke. Don't drive the car until it's replaced. You will totally drain your battery and possibly blow the enging because the coolant isn't being pumped through.
