Question about 1988 Mazda 929
I recently bought a 1988 Mazda 929 two weeks ago. I took it to get the oil changed at jiffy lube 4 days ago and they informed me the oil was very low but the leak appeared to be very minimal and wouldnt be a problem. (It must be burning the oil) I was driving today and the car suddenly shut off so I coasted to the side of the road. I checked the oil and it was very low. I put 5 qts of oil it in and tried to start it up again, it turns over but will not start. What should I do?
Drain the oil and replace the filer as you have overfilled the crancase. These engines only take 500ml or half a litre of oil to go from the low to high mark on the dipstick 5 qtrs of oil is like 5ltrs of oil. the total oil capacity in these engines is 4.3 ltres of oil including 500 ml for the filter so you have overfilled the engine by about 4.5 ltres
