with COP coils x4 (DIS ignition?)
our Esteems started in 1999....
other countries have them too, but use totally different spark (distributor) and Im not answering for THAT, only USA EPA spec. engines.
some othere countries, has a Mazda. 1.8L BP.
answering for J18 only.
the J18 is an understoked, J20. (early engine)

the answer is there, too.
facing engine, crank pulley on left
see that head, see the front cam,
this cam has the CMP drive (left side,) or right facing engine) the cam drives it directly.
so... is just there.

why? not scan the PCM and see if you have P0340 errors = CMP misfiring..... (even 1 in 10)

as you cans see, the FSM is full of CMP facts,
factory service manual. NO photos?, BAH!

id bet it saves for more than that. its really investment grade.

pick one then ask questions.

what country, all countries, use , unique wiring, and colors
country brand, suzuki, model Esteem. and what engine.
we have 2 engines here, other countries more.
and the wiring diagram for the whole car fills a room.
try to post a system, that if failing..... on the car.
and we can produce a schematic for just that spot and not 100 pages.
If car is in USA, all this and more, is at alldata dot com or at mitchells . and suzuki sells a FSM. its there too.

my 04 has FSM the size of new york phone directory.

or buy the FSM. on ebay used, dirt cheap. too.

it may be due to faulty wiring in the circuit. I shall advise u to get it rectified by a service center.

I had to fit second solenoid and took the positive feed from the carb. slow running solenoid. The single earth wire from the power steering pump was connected to the negative feed of the solenoid. The vacuum pipes were connected to the AC actuator in parallel

Make a trip to your local Autozone parts store. They will gladly print out that diagram for you at no charge.
