The light will keep coming on until u have whatever electronic engine control problem u have fixed, each time the light comes on it sets a trouble code in the memory of the computer (called the PCM), have it tested for that code and get back to me.

That is a sign that your car's computer is getting an error. You will most likely have to have your car connected to a diagnostic tool to find the error. I believe autozone can do this for you (for free).

If there is something to service that is whats going to happen until you fix the problem. There may be faulty sensors or valves. Have you had it diagnosed yet? If not take it somewhere to have the CEL diagnosed then at least you will know what the issue is. Hope it helps.

This dash is a "push-in" dash panel. There was a lot of trouble with the connections on the panel. They get corroded and don't make good contact. Remove the instrument cluster, spray the connections with electro-motive spray. Maybe even some very fine steel wool (with the battery disconnected!) and get the terminals clean. Re-assemble. It should work GREAT. Hope this helps.

How do I get service engine light to go out

i think the service light is interval based, and not actually measuring the state of oil/filters etc. a odb2 tool should be able to reset it

How do you reset the service engine soon light

Put the key into the ignition and turn it to "Run." Don't start the engine. Press down slowly and fully on the gas pedal, then release it. Do this three times in five seconds. Watch for the "Service Engine Soon" light to start blinking. This indicates that the system is resetting itself. Turn the ignition to "Off" and wait one minute. Start the Century's engine. The Service Engine Soon light will flash for a moment, then turn off. If it doesn't do this, repeat the process.if all else fails...Disconnect your battery for one minute and then reconnect it again that should reset it, if the problem that you have in your car is still there then that light will come on again after whille then you gona need to run diagnostics on your car to find the problem if it will not come on again then that should take care of it.9-08-2006Let me tell you about my experience with my 1995 Buick Century. When my buick sits for a while while running, the radiator fan comes on, you know?Well, after the fan does its thing, SOMETIMES the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light comes on.THEN.....when this happens again, it may take a couple times of after the fan comes on, then....the light goes off !!!Its like it needs to go thru some sort of "CYCLE" , THEN THE LIGHT GOES OFF...Who knows though, you may have LEGITIMATE problems with your car.good luck.

How do you reset service light on a 2009 ford focus 1.6 zetec

If you mean "Check engine / Service engine soon" light, you will need an OBD II Scanner / tool. Other ways that sometimes work is if you unhook that battery, try to start the car with no battery (It would drain any remaining power in the cars systems), wait a hour, hook the battery back up and start the car, it might of forgotten the problem. Chances are, the light would be back on within 3-5 miles of driving it again.
If your saying "Service soon" Like an oil change reminder, look in the cars manual... Most cars you hold "Reset" when the message is displayed / or when your looking at "Oil life" (GM's have "Oil Life", idk if ford does.)
Good Luck!

My change oil light never goes off even though I had it changed and now my service vehicle soon light is on even though its been running fine

The change oil light needs to be reset after each oil change...some shops are not knowledgeable on how to do this...Your owners manual will instruct you how to reset the oil change light...The service engine soon is a catch all for low fluids and other needs...Be sure to check your oil level clear the service engine soon light, you can disconnect either battery cable for 15 minutes then reconnect...if the service engine stays on...then you need to have your Grand Am checked...Auto Zone does a free diagnostic of check engine light codes...:)

My engine check light is on... i tried disconnecting the battery for 10mins but it still remains on. what is the problem?

Disconnecting the battery will only turn the light off if the problem was in intermittent one. In your case the vehicle must still be having an issue when you start the engine. Call your local parts stores and soo which ones will "scan" the vehicle and see what the check engine light is saying the problem is. Most stores do this as a free service, and they may even be able tu turn the light off for you.

Bad acceleration - engine goes off while driving

12 is battery disconnected lately, or dead. No worries.
13 & 14 are your likely problem, M.A.P. sensor.
52 is oxygen sensor.
I would replace M.A.P sensor, disconnect battery for a few minutes to erase codes, then hook-up start & run the vehicle for a while. My guess is that the oxygen sensor is being tripped by Map sensor. Run for a couple of days if running o.k. then check codes again.

Service Engine Soon Light on a 2004 Trail Blazer

1. Turn key to the "on" position but don't start car
2. Pull the PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
3. Wait approximately 5 minutes
4. Turn ignition off
5. Replace fuses
6. Start the car and the make sure the light has went off.
then check to see if your gas cap is on right. If this light comes on again then it is time for the dealer. If you can't find them fuses then just disconnect the battery for five minutes reconnect the battery and when you start the truck the light should be out. just let it idle for 2 minutes with no heater or radio on. and you set. I hope this helps you.
