SOURCE: o3 ford expedition fuel filter

The fuel filter is located next to the fuel tank. There is a cover over it near the frame. I am not sure if special tools are needed ,the clips may just pop off.

You need a quick release tool sold at the auto parts store, just slide the tool over the line, and push it in the filter, and pull on the lines, and they will release, then to install, just push the lines in the filter until they click,if this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

Is your egr valve blocked up with carbon? Also check any gas line hoses for sweating or other fuel leakage. Gas lines 12 years old sweat fuel! Good luck!

SOURCE: my 1998 ford expedition acts like it is not

I had a 99 Ford Explorer and I had two fuel filters one was in line and the other was near the fuel pump - but you probably do need to replace the fuel pump also.

My ford expedition won't start i change the fuel

If it a diesel then you must be aware that when changing a filter and pump they must be full of fuel, otherwise it won't **** the fuel into the engine.

When my 1998 expedition is idling it shakes really bad and sometimes dies-I think it may be the vacuum hose, but have no idea where that is or if that is the problem

it is not a vacuum hose, i have the same problem. you need to change the oil and oil filter, then spark pugs and ignition coils and wires. and then finally the fuel injector connections. hope this helps:)

My 1998 ford expedition acts like it is not getting enough fuel. replaced the fuel filter and it solved the problem for a little while. Now its doing the same thing again.

You most likely have a fuel pump going out,the fuel filter replacement was a little late,it put strain on the fuel pump, and it has took it`s toll on the fuel pump,,I have seen it a lot,if this was helpful,at all, please rate, thank you,and have the fuel pump pressure checked.
