SOURCE: Changing back spark plugs underneath engine cover

I'm fairly certain those motors require the upper intake manifold be removed to gain access to the rear spark plugs. You might be better off bringing it to a qualified technician as it gets fairly involved. If i remember correctly it's about a 2 hour job and requires a few gaskets.

2002 Kia Optima 2.4 engine. What is the part called that has the wires from the spark plugs going into it? And can someone tell me where to find a diagram of the correct order?

Question edited a bit more clarity.
Question moved to model category.

When you replaced the starter, did you disconnect the battery? If you did, it is the security system and engine immobilizer that is stopping the car from starting. It needs resetting. Not so easy in a Kia!

https://autoily.com/how-do-i-reset-kia-alarm/

The Throttle Position Sensor is nothing to do with the Starter.

The item with the wires you refer to, is normally called the coil pack, but yours has the coil on top of the spark plugs.

https://www.google.com/search?q=2002+kia+optima+2.4+coil+packs

So what it has is a modern type distributor that is 'distributorLESS'.

2.4L Engine Firing Order: 1-3-4-2 Distributorless ignition system.

Kia, Sephia, Rio, Spectra, Optima 1998-2006 Firing Orders ...

Service manual

Hope all that helps you.

I have an 03 kia optima lx my car will cut off while I'm driving. Can you please tell me what the problem is. I would very much appreciate your input on this matter

this is caused by the crankshaft position sensor located behind the timing belt. this sensor cuts off the power to the spark plug so the car won't start. it happened with my kia and then everything went fine!

I have a 2004 Kia Optima and it left me stranded on the road, came to a complete stop, I turned off the ignition then turn the key again and it started up fine. It had happen a couple of weeks ago and...

You need to have the codes checked. when you cycled the key , you were resetting the ECM. This didn't fix the problem. Get the codes and let me know. We can go from there. There are to many things to list that can shut down engines. And you don't need to buy expensive parts that you don't need.

2005 Kia Optima that won't start, it keeps trying to fire but won't ignite, some people looked at it and think it might be the starter, trying to get an idea of how much this would cost to repair?

if it will turn over it is not the starter if turns over and will not start it is one of two problems not getting fuel or not getting fire. make sure there is fuel coming to the rail by pushing in on serator valve if equipped if not will have to disconnect the fuel line. this is a coil over ignition system remove one of the coils from the plug pull the plug out and ground it to something medal turn the key over and see if it sparks.

Kia optima low beams

First verify that the switch is energizing the relay in both positions by turning the low beams on and then pulling up the relay--does it click? If not, replace the switch. If yes, next check for power on the red wire as it comes out of the column. Switch on, no power--replace the switch. If power, check for power at the head-low fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. No power--find break in wire. If power, check for power on the yellow/red wire as it comes out of the fuse box. No power--repair fuse box. Power--check for power at lamps--same wire. No power--repair yellow/red wire.
