If your ac is on max i believe it recirculates the air in the car by sucking air in by the defrost vents and blows it back out of the normal vents try to move the controls to make sure the that the shutters are working and make sure the ac is not on max by selecting the knob that has an arrow going through the little car instead of the circular one that might fix the problem

In my 2007 gmc sierra, when I turn on the air conditioner it blows hot air as if the heater was on in all vents.

The temperature is controlled by the use of an air mix door that is operated by an electric motor/actuator. This door can be jammed or the actuator can be inoperative or have stripped plastic gears internally.

2004 chevy k2500 no air out of defrost vents, temp controls work fine cannot direct air to defrost vent

You may have a problem or bad connection in the a/c-heat control unit I'd remove that and inspect that first. As long as you do have heat elsewhere you can rule out the blend door actuator. There are vents that open and close and you will need to be able to access and check them. You will need to remove dash to be able to get to them.

Replaced battery in 2004 chevy trailblazer 4x4 8cl., then air conditioner doesnt blow out the face vents only the defrost and feet. any ideas?

Typically, you have a vacuum issue, air flow system is designed to FAIL in the defrost mode, so no vacuum, doors are spring loaded to blow out defrost ports.

Ac blows through defroster on max

The Climate control system in your truck has a gate that changes postition in order to change the flow of air from your face to defrost. The door is actuated by vacuum. Yours is still working otherwise it would be on defrost all the time. So you do have partial vacuum to the actuator but not enough to keep it in position when on high. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak but not bad enough (yet) to totally disable the gate.
