Question about 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE CA Value
If you use the windows the car just shuts off.
The electric windows draw their power from the alternator and battery. If your car is shutting off, check the serpentine belt under the hood for tension and wear. If the belt is slick, cracked, or has breaks in it, it should be replaced. A bad belt will slip and the alternator won't put out enough power to operate the engine and windows simulateously.
If the belt is in good shape, take the car to a service station or auto parts store that features free charging system diagnosis to determine if your alternator is weak or if you have a bad battery.
