Disconnect the negative side battery cable - leave disconnected for approximately five minutes then reconnect. Will reset the system and clear all codes.

the first thing you need to do is take your van to a autoparts store, and have them read the codes in the computer. this is a free service. a flashing service engine light is a indication of a emergency situation so get there soon. once the codes have been read get back to me and i can probably help you more
Take van to reputable Ford dealer and have them hook it up to computer and check for any codes.
The vehicle computer might have to be reset for the egr system.What they did was disconnect your battery for the quicki reset for vehicle, thats why your radio had reset.
Try running a wire from positive direct to the starter solinoid, i wouldnt think it would be the imob unless the computer has been reset, if it has youll need the red master key to reset the system,
