SOURCE: Replacing value cover gaskets on a 1988 Ford F150 302 engine.
hi no short cuts on changing gaskets, u have to take off the top intake, then move all the wires and vac hoses, it is a pain, when I did mine and while I was there I changed my intake gasket also, and glade I did I found other problems with vac hoses and a water leak and an oil leak, the lower intake was nasty inside, here soon i need to do the timing chain and front cover there is a water leak....

SOURCE: 1987 F150 302. No trouble codes but engine idles too fast
The IAC (idle air control) may be stuck from dirt or malfunctioning. It's located in the intake near the throttle body.Remove it clean with carb cleaner and reinstall
Testimonial: "Thank you for response. Actually had IAC off and was clean inside. Resistance within range 9 ohms but voltage signal at 12.5 V rather than 10.5 V"
SOURCE: my 1995 ford f150 v8 302 will not start
Ford truck was running fine then it just shut's OFF, afterwards did start once stayed on for a couple of minutes then shut off again. A friend thinks it's the computer after checking the car. Note I did pressure wash the engine 2 day's before and didn't use it till now.
