Question about 2006 Toyota Corolla

06 corolla dead in driveway code po607

Just bought this 06 corolla last week. Was loving the car, but on day 5 of ownership, I went to start it- would'nt start. Finally started, but wouldn't stay running- then died when I put it in gear. Check engine light came on- lucky for me, my husband has a code checker. I got code PO 607. Control Mod Performance. Does this mean the car needs a new computer?  How long does this take? Should I just get a refund?  I'm very disappointed!

Just get a refund. The computers are expensive and if it died in 5 days, there had to be a problem that the previous owner knew about. GIVE IT BACK QUICK befor more problems occur!

Use a bottle of yellow HEET dry gas / fuel dryer to remove moisture in your fuel tank.

Check the coil + wires for water / moisture drip / wetness.

My odometer reading changes, it was 87,900 when i bought it. Last week it was 99,900 and today it is 88,900...What is going on? I have a 2009 toyota corolla that I bought in June 2012

There is a reading on the Lower Right that indicates if it is Km or MI, It sounds like your Instrument Cluster is going bad or someone made a mistake with the Mileage on the Oil Change Sticker.

Pay close attention for the next few days and see what happens....

Odyssey battery problem?

You need to remove the battery cables and clean the connections with a wire battery terminal cleaning tool. Then start the car and check the voltage at the battery with a multimeter. It should be between 13.5-16 volts. Any less and the alternator is defective. If this all checks out and you are 100% sure nothing is on drawing power then the battery more than likely has a dead cell. Remove the battery and take it to your parts store and have it tested. You will probably need a new battery.

Electrical problems

I have, when I first bought my 02 Liberty. It ended up being a faulty ECU. ECU is the computer brain that controls the whole car. I had it replace and it never happened again.
