Question about 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe
I have a serious problem with my headlights, they are extremely dim. What should i do my bright lights look like regular lights! I've changed the bulbs already it helped a little but not much! Please help!
Check the voltage on the lamps when the engine is running they should be 12 to 13.5vdc
If not take a length of 5mm thick cable put an in-line fuse on it with a 10amp fuse in it , connect that to the positive terminal of the battery and the other end to the wire supplying the low beam.
You can check that by disconnecting the wires one at a time from the lamp holder.
With the engine switched off touch the wire to the low beam terminal and check for brightness if it improves then you need to improve the supply line to the lamps from the loom
If that does ont show and improvement try
Hook a clean earth wire from the battery negative lead and place it on the metal rim of the lamp holder
Make sure you use a reasonable size of cable 5mm should about do it
With the low beam switched on you should be able to see an improvment in illumination if it is a poopr earth path
Again if it is you will need to wire in a clean line to the headlamps
