Hello, the black connector is attached to the light, pull the black connector, I suggest hold the light with one hand while your pulling probable goin to talke a little force. After the connector comes off remove the black boot than there is a spring loaded bar, I believe you push that down (or up) and it will free the light to be replaced. Be careful while pulling I changed a few of these lights before and getting it off was a little tuff.

No high beam or high beam dash indicator

Accurate fault finding requires a steady nerve and thought as to what powers what. You changed a bunch of stuff without ascertaining you had any juice there in the first place. Take a basic probe with bulb type circuit tester and see if there is any supply at the high beam fuse holder with the fuse removed. One claw that holds the fuse should be live, possibly needing the key to be in the on position. If not then find a diagram in a manual or online and see where the supply comes from. If yes then insert the fuse and move down the line to the h/lamp switch, being careful where you poke the tester. If OK then switch the lights on and locate the high beam relay. Remove relay and see if 2 pins in the relay bank are live. Why 2? Because the relay switches the heavy current required to the h/lamps. This means 1 pin is from the switch and 1 from fuse box (usually) this is where a diagram is gold. If you have a live pin that responds to the switch operation but no others you will have to refer to the diagram to see where the heavy supply comes from and think again. If you have 2 live pins, refit the relay, see if the relay clicks under your thumb when the high beam is operated. If yes, move on down to the plug at the headlamps in turn. Sometimes the harness crosses from one side to other with multi pin plugs. Check the fit of any plugs you find and for trapped or rubbed harness. Continue in a methodic way in hand with a diagram.

My high beam lights and signal lights will not work for my 2001 chevy malibu

there is no fuse for high bean light. the same light bulb that does your low beam, will also do high beam. Now because your signal lights are not working,it could be the multi-function switch. Any repair shop will quickly diagnose this problem. If you know how to change the headlight bulb of your car, i would start with that.

Daytime Running Lights Inoperative 2002 Toyota Camry

[Information] For a 2002 Toyota Camry, the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) operate utilizing the High Beams (inner Lamps closer to the center of the vehicle front) at a reduced power.

[The troubleshooting process:] Review the Owner's Manual and ensure the test configuration matches the following criteria:
1. According to the 2002 Toyota Camry Owner's Manual (Check your Owners Manual):
"The DRL system will make your headlights come on at a reduced brightness when:
The light switch s in the "DRL" position.
The ignition is on with the engine running.
The headlight switch is off.
The parking brake is released."

2. Set the Test Conditions according to Step 1 above.

3. Check the headlight bulbs to ensure they are not burned out. If one burns out, there is a fair chance that the other would have burned out at the same time. Replace as necessary. In this case, if the high beams operate, the DRLs should also operate.
4. Test the system, ensuring the step 1 conditions are set. (Engine running, Multi-function Switch on Turn Signals in "DRL" position, headlight switch off (repeating what the manual says -- it should be obvious that in the "DRL" position, the headlight switch should be off / do not have the switch positioned to "High Beam"), and the Parking Brake "off").
5. If DRL lights do not work, check the engine compartment Fuse and Relay Box. there is a 5 Amp DRL fuse -- replace it with the spare. Test (step 4).
6. If it does not work, swap around or replace relays -- there are three (3). Any one of them could be bad (stuck or burned out). Test (step 4).
7. Other less likely possible issues could be that the Multi-function Switch is broken or a connection / wire is broken. [Beyond the scope of this process.]

My problem was that the test configuration did not have the engine running and parking brake off - Step 1. Problem solved with much thought, repetitive tests on the vehicle and going back to the basics -- what does the Owner's Manual say and where are the applicable fuses and relays located?
