Code p0734 also has codes p0431 & p0302 . I understand these could be "related". Car doesn't seem to go into overdrive at proper speed. increased fuel consumption, and so on

Why didn't you google your codes & read up?

The 302 is a cylinder misfire
The 431 is a worn out or ruined exhaust converter from the misfires
The 734 is a 4th gear incorrect ratio-mostly a failing trans

I would suggest we go no farther & you part with it while you can

If you had no trans issues-- I would say you have a neglected but
fixable car

With the cost of trans repair & a 2003 wouldn't spend any money
on it

SOURCE: 2002 hyundai accent codes p1529 and p0734

P1529 means nothing more than the TCM (transmission control module) has requested that the ECM (engine control module) turn on the check engine lamp.
P0734 basically indicates that your transmission is slipping.
You need to take this car to an authorized repair center for hyundai cars. Replacing the filter and fluid on the transmission might save this transmission but I would be willing to bet that a total transmission rebuild is in order.

Good Luck

SOURCE: 2002 hyundai accent.transmission works great

Hi

Well two of the tranny codes ; P0734 and PO732 indicate gear 2,3,4 ratio incorrect. This can be caused by poor readings at the input and output speed sensors or pulse generators. The P1709 code is in reference to the kickdown servo switch.

Replacing the pulse generator set and TCM reprogramming( as per TSB) may solve your problem, otherwise you have a major component failure in the transmission unit. I would get some line pressures at the transmission checked first.

Sounds like the transmission is in fail safe mode, this happens when there is a transmission fault, you only have two gears 2nd and reverse.

Hope this helps - Steve

2004 Dodge Dakota. It down shifts hard and now it won't shift out of 2nd gear and I have code P0734 and the fluid level is good. Where is the solenoid located?

Question edited for clarity and spelling 'solenoid'.
Question moved to model category.

It may not be the solenoid, it is a speed sensor error related to 4th gear.

The P0734 code stands for "Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio." It's logged when the PCM detects that the RPM of your input speed sensor doesn't match the expected RPM in 4th gear.

2006 mitsubishi endeavor has no spark at coils codes that came up were po302 and po431 was on the highway n just shut off wont start back up checked fuel pump that is good put a spark plug tester n got no...

As the code description implies the P0431 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0431 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first.
The P0302 code means that the cylinder 2 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks and if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 2. If the problem persists more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes"

Have 3 codes p0722,p0732,p0734 could they be all related and how do you check if the input and output sensors are bad

The codes usually indicate a bad sensor or something, if everything is working properly then you will not get a code. Need the codes defined and see which sensors they are related to. I always carry mine to Auto Zone but I think Advanced Auto Parts will also read the codes for free and tell you what they mean. I would happen to guess that other auto part stores do the same thing. I use Auto Zone because where I live all the workers are all trained mechanics.

Kia p0431, p0446, p0715

They are three separate issues.
Code 431 involves the O2 sensors and the catalytic converter, code 446 is for the evap vent control for the gas tank, and code 715 is for the input shaft speed sensor in the transaxle.
The engine temp and other factors would need to be checked for code 431, and the sensors would need to be tested for the other two codes.

P0734=A/T 4th gear incorrect ratio. This has nothing to do with the speed sensor. If the speed sensor was faulty, it would also set OTHER gear incorrect ratio codes. My experience tells me the 4th gear incorrect ration indicates the torque converter clutch (TCC) is slipping and nothing more. Unless there was a speed sensor DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code), the sensor is not the issue (yet). The fact P0734 was set (trust the computer), the TCC is slipping (out of range). Question: Maintenance history may indicate the wrong transmission fluid may have been introduced. Hyundai's Transmission fluid is strictly SPIII... there is no substitute. The incorrect fluid will cause 4th gear slippage. Now, having said that, it doesn't mean the 4th gear (lock-up) clutch isn't worn out. Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.
