Much like the check engine light, you would need to use a scanner to clear the codes from the body computer once the problem that turned on the warning lights was fixed. As long as the problem exists the lights will stay on. You could try disconnecting the battery for an hour, but the engine computer will have to re-learn the basic settings for the engine when you start it.
Instructions:1) Check the oil. The light is a warning signal that you are low on oil or that the oil is not flowing properly. If the oil level is fine then the issue may be a reset button. Two different methods will allow you to reset the oil light.2) Turn the key to the on position. Do not turn the engine on. Press the accelerator pedal down three times in a five-second period. Turn the engine on. If the oil light goes off you have successfully reset the oil light. If it stays on you need to try the second method.3) Find the fuse box. This should be under the dash in between the steering wheel and the door. Open the fuse box and look for the reset button. Press the button until you hearing a beeping sound. It will beep three times. The oil light should be reset. Turn the engine and see if the oil light goes off. If the oil light stays it still has not been successfully reset. 4)
Read the manual. The two methods above are the two most common ways of resetting the oil light. Your car may have additional options to try. If none of the methods resets the oil light then there is a different problem such as a non-functioning oil sensor. At this point you need to see a mechanic.
Ah, I see. You want to outsmart the computer? Right logic, wrong computer. I think the problem is not in the transmission, but it is the engine computer that has communicated with the transmission computer and put the car in limp-in mode. The fix engine light is sent from the engine computer, and this is the main computer in the car, the main drive train computer, if you will. The short answer is yes it will reset, by just unhooking the battery. Won't do any harm. Start it up about an hour later, and be sure and let it warm up to normal operating temperature (closed loop) before you take it out for a test drive. Otherwise you may be miles from home in 2nd gear limp-in mode again. The real fix is to talk to your car...like communicate with the computer and get those trouble codes read...talk to it nice, not the abrupt tone of the glaring idiot light, and maybe it will respond in a kinder, gentler easy to fix diagnostic code!!!! Good luck.
Ok replace the thermostat which is stucked open, cuz the computer will not go into open loop unless the engine reaches normal operating temperature. You can disconnect the battery, to reset it, but untill you replace the thermostat, the check engine light will pop up again. Good luck
vsc shuts down any time check engine light comes on. repair engine light problem, reset computer monitoring system and vsc light will go off. must scan computer to pull codes for check engine light and go from there.
hi if i remember right to reset service light.button on end of stork to operate mpg computer etc.keep pressing until service spanner appears in display.hold trip computer reset button long one sticking out dash for 10 secs.i think its this that resets it
its easy too replace but you need too reset your cmputer first too see if the light stays out before you go and buy the egr valve
disconnect the pos side of the battery for 5 min that will reset the computer,if the light comes back on then get the egr valve then you will have too reset it again
Must have engine computer scanned to get codes and determine cause of check engine light. Low tire light probably needs reset. Open passenger door and remove panel on side of dash. Reset switch should be located in that compartment.
