Take it off the door handle side of the cable, not the latch side.

Replace the regulator. It comes with the motor. You have to remove the door panel to access it.

Replaced door lock fuse on 03 Suburban, doors still won't unlock.

You need to replace the Unlock Relay, it should be in the fuse panel on the passanger side.

Vw 2006 passat trunk won't close

this always happens to my 06 passat when its really cold, im talking 0 or lower. i try not to open the trunk in the winter if i can help it. Its annoying but in the summer i have no problems. I have herd of alot of other people having this problem, VW knows about it and dosnt think its a recall item for somereason, look for your fancy gas door to not open next, i know of 3 people that started having trunk problems and then the fuel door stopped working, not sure if it has anything to do with it or not. but It happend to me and now i have the auto fuel door disconnected from the inside of the trunk.
The trunk issue isnt anything big to worry about it seems intermittent. I found latches and there a little pricey thats why i just deal with it.

Two weeks ago the drivers side rear wind stoped operating and is in the up position. All other windows were working ok. Yesterday the passanger side rear window stoped operating. Fuses are ok and I hear...

Not really i think your right, it sounds like both motors went bad a quick little test i always do is hold switch down and bang on the inside of the door at lower front of door and sometimes it shakes motor and it starts working then i know for sure its a motor, this save cuatomers money , they dont pay to remove panel and testing, try it . hope this helps.

Passenger front door does not open from outside, only from inside. Also, driver's side door has to be jiggled a bit to get that door to open from outside. The inside latch is loose. Just bought this car...

this is a common problem with VW door handles, but an easy fix!!! The door handle needs to be replaced as the fork that lifts the lock has broken off or cracked. Depending on the model it is easy to remove the door handle. spring off the Crome mld on the front and on the slam side of the door behind the rubber u will find a phillips screw. Under the crome mld is the other.
Good luck.

Front passanger door not opening on central locking

My 1998 passat done the same, try remove the drivers side window/childlock control on the armrest and clean the multipoint switch as that got my drivers side door opening/closing on the fob as well as the passenger rear door unlocking and working again as it was deadbolted and would not open inside or out.

I also am unable to open the front passanger door from the outside, does anyone know if this is a common fault, this is the second passat it has happened on

Yes, it seems VAG haven't got the hang of making a decent door handle / latch system!

If it opens from the inside ok then it will be the linkage from the outer handle to the latch that has come away. Usually they just fall out of the clip and can be pushed back into place but in cold weather the plastics get a little brittle and snap.

Once the inner trim is off, look inside the door shell, it should be fairly obvious when you see it.

Open the front doors and look for a small black tube sticking out the door jamb. Slice the tip off with a razor blade. This is your sunroof drain.

Have a mechanic check underneath of the battery for debris blocking the battery pan drains and that the cabin filter cover is on tightly and sesled with silicone.

Broken Latch Mechanism on interior front passanger side 03 Passat

For the door panel, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal and you can disengage the rods connecting to the latch assembly. Then on the side of the door, there should be some bolts holding the mechanism in place. remove the bolts and the mechanism will pop out
