P01776 is solenoid switch latched in low/reverse position.erase code and see if it comes back,if it does you will need to recondition the valve body or replace it

Stay away from those vehicles & all van type

I don't consider them safe & when I had my trans
shop, they were 50% of my business

Transmission Failure is a very bad
Tires wear from poor suspension design
There is more

Buy a Rear Drive Transmission Vehicle &
change the trans & power steering fluids every 3
years or less

Transmission cooler

Having once owned a trans repair shop I
would never tow with that transaxle or any
front wheel drive transaxle

You can look in the grill & see all the coolers
& follow the lines & tubing to power steering
& transaxle

NO factory cooler will be large enough for towing

Do you change your trans fluid every 3 years or sooner,
on ALL vehicles you have ever owned?

Death Sentence to any trans if you don't

Power Steering Fluids as well

You could pull a small trailer just to take leaves to
the recycle center but nothing else.

Those caravans need to come from the factory with a
spare trans,60% of my shops work was those transaxles

2002 dodge caravan clunk

I would say either you have bad cv joints
or they may have beeb damaged some with
all that other work
The question you should ask yourself & the shop
is why is it there now & not before all that work.
Were all transaxle & motor mounts bad & missed as well
or the cradle moved for some reason
You had it Wheel Alignment I hope
You can't do a rack & not alignment

My 2000 caravan intermit engine stall

Have the fuel pressure & fuel pump checked

Get caught up on ALL Preventative Maintenance

Spark Plugs
O2 Sensors
Gas Filter
Air Filter
Check Fuel Pressure
Look at Scan Tool Data (professional grade, not a code reader)
Scope the O2 sensors & TPS Sensor

Do not just drive to save money,be proactive & look
for problems on all your vehicles & start learning &
taking over your own work
It is too costly to pay a shop for all that needs to be
done on very complicated hi-tech vehicles

Change all the fluids,ALL --steering,trans,axles,
brake fluid

I have a 2001 dodge grand caravan sport in default mode. i have been driving it like this for a few months, waiting on a computer. within the last couple of days, it has been driving really rough. and i am...

If you loose the trans, and you will eventually, you can blame yourself, for driving it with codes present and in default mode

Having own a trans shop,I will tell you all caravans trans axles, and most other van type transaxles are junk.

Sell it.

Leaking fluid

Only so many places these trans 41 TE can leak on the vans. Lines on top, speed sensors(input, output)one is below the lines the other is to right of the lines. Dipstick tube, trans solenoid gasket, Oil pan & extension gasket. Wipe off & clean area very well. Lines leaking, check clamps first before replacing. Speed sensor leaking replace o ring, Dipstick tube replace o ring, Trans solenoid replace gasket, Extension plate replace gasket If the pan is leaking you change the trans filter & put a gasket on the pan. The book says RTV on the pan, but FelPro make a gasket for the pan $6.99. Use a Chrysler trans filter!!!! O rings for sensors, tube around $3 each, trans solenoid gasket $3, extension gasket $10, Filter $11 + gasket $7 & 4qts trans fluid if doing the filter or extension gasket.

Tranmission problem on 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

When the trans. sticks itself in 2nd gear and stays there is because it's detecting a trans. problem and puts itself in "limp in" mode. When it happens again, to somewhere to have a scan done on the trans. so you can find out which sensor on the trans. is acting up.
