I dont think it would be the fuel pump, or else no fuel would to delivered to the engine.
i would try cleaning the throttle body first, as dirty throttle body's can cause rough idling and stalling while stopped or slow speeds.

Are there any main fuses on a 2001 plymouth neon

Have you checked the starter solenoid. Your battery + cable connects to this then + cable runs from it to your starter. You also have an ignition switch wire connected to this. Just follow your cable from the battery and it will lead you right to the part. Some times these will break inside or the contacts go bad inside and therefore you will not get power to start the engine, but you will have power to turn on lights or whatever other accessories. The part is about $15

Car just died and wont start back up. It turns over but wont start. 95 plymoth neon

There are three things you need for an engine to run. 1. You have to have ignition(spark) 2. you have to have fuel. 3. you have to have a mechanically sound engine.
Ignition failure could be a number of things including the computer.
Fuel could be the pump, or again the computer
Mechanically, you may want to check the timing belt.
There are so many things you need to narrow it down some. lee

My daughter has a 1995 plymoth neon. It is having

I would suspect something like a faulty mass airflow sensor, but why not take the car to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve any fault code(s) that are stored in the computer. Most parts stores offer this service for free. Getting the codes should end speculation and narrow down the cause of the problem. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

Walmart shop people are not the sharpest knives in the drawer...Company "rules" prevent even the better ones from doing any real proper testing of any problems even inches from the battery.
Your friend was actually doing the right thing but stopped short of finding the "somewhere". You can go over it again or bring it to a competent shop that can do it for you.

Replace alternator for a Plymoth NEON

the alternator for a 95 neon

1 first take the right tire off
2 then lift the car
3 then get a 15mm socket and loosen the blots of the bracket
4 then open the hood and undo the power steering and take off the top bot of the alternator
5 then take off the bottom blots and take off the bracket
6 then move the alternator so you can disconnect the wiring i think you need a 10mm for that maybe smaller
7 then pull it out(when i did it to mine it was hard to pull it out)
8 then to put it back just the same way but backwards

mine broke too if you need more help email me ozark99@hotmail .com
