That should be the throttle harness bracket. It holds throttle, kickdown and emission wires.

I have a 93 gmc suburban it starts then dies if I put my foot on the gas to keep it running smoke comes out the muffler and when I take my foot off the gas it dies

Sounds like too much fuel, could be a leaking injector, faulty pressure regulator, or blockage of air intake. Did you replace the injectors and pressure regulator when you worked on the throttle body ? Can you see normal fuel spray on both injectors when the engine is running ?

99 suburban starts but doesnt stay running

Our F-150 had a similar problem. It was a cam phaser, then timing sensors, I believe, had to be changed as well.

Have a 99 suburban its been sitting for a year and had no problems but now the engine is missing changed plugs cap and rotor but same exact problem

If it's been sitting for a year with the same fuel, drop the tank and flush it and the fuel lines completely. Also take out the fuel pump and replace the fuel pump screen and don't forget to replace the fuel filter as well. Fuel WILL go bad sitting for that long.

99 suburban missing only at idle

Hello;
Have you checked the fuel pressure? You may have a sticking fuel regulator, causing too much fuel at idle. Since it works fine off idle and cruise I would look there.
Thanks;

this sounds like you have a problem with the electric fuel pump sticking, that would be where i would look, when u turn the key on with the windows up do u hear a humming noise for about 3 seconds? if not the fuel pump is the problem.

1999 gmc suburban fuel pump

I had the same problem with my 99 suburban. There was a memo sent out by GM to all of the service shops that tell them when you replace the fuel pump or just desconnect it you need to replace the pigtail wiring harness that connects to the pump or it will burn up the new pump. I went through 3 pumps before I found this out after I replace the pigtail it fixed the problem.
