We are having the same issue...We have a Dodge Cummins Diesel 5.9 dually 1 ton and it drove us

fine to town and back, my husband got up the next morning to go to work and it wouldn't even turn over. Replaced the starter relay fuse that was recommended and had both batteries tested and they were bad so I bought 2 brand new ones and installed them and still nothing! I have a hard time believing it is the starter, but crazier things have happened, I guess. Just don't want to have to go there if there is a possiblity it could be something else a little simpler. Checked all fuses, they are all good as far as I can tell. I was wondering if there is an ignition module on these duallys and if it could possibly be that? Anymore ideas, I am up to try almost anything!

I don't know if this could possibly be linked or not, but the drivers seat heater won't work anymore either...Could it be a bad wire some where. All of the dash lights come on but there is absolutely no sound whatsoever when you turn the switch, almost like something isn't making a connection. Someone had mentioned in another forum something about a neutral safety something? Could it be this, can it be tested, and where do I find it?

Use a ford type solonoide (four pole two small and two large terminals) and run a separate wire to the starter solonoide on the starter motor 10gauge , use the existing wire from the stock starter relay ad the triger wire on the ford solonoide.

2002 Intrepid. Turn the key and hear one click. Dash lights come on but hear nothing else.

Do a quick check on battery, get someone to watch the headlights turn them on and then turn the key to the start position, if the lights go out then your battery is either completely discharged or has gone bad.

I have a 1995 ford f350 turbo diesel snow truck, and when i turn the key dosent start and makes like a clik clik under the hood

Okay, If this noise happens when you turn the Key to start, your Starter Relay is bad. Now the other possibility is the Glowplug Timer. When you start a Diesel there is a pause in the initial cold start. You turn the Igniition Key to Run, then let the Glowplug Timer cycle. This cycle sound will be a series of clicks which also may cause the lights to dim.

The glowplugs absolutely must warm up to start a cold diesel engine. There should be a light on the dash which either goes off when the glowplugs are ready or a light will turn on when they are ready. It is only after that activity that you will turn the Key to Start.

Since Diesels take more power to Start, there are 2 batteries. As with a single battery system, every connection must be clean. If the Glow-plug Timer is working and you only get clicks by turning your Key to Start, check the things I said earlier. Your Starter Relay and the big cable connections.

If after all of that, the engine will not turn over and only clicks, jump the Starter Relay with 1 cable from a jumper cable set from the Positive Battery cable post to the Starter Relay on the Starter wire connector. Make sure the truck is in Park or Neutral. If the Starter jumper cable sparks and the Starter does not turn, the Starter is bad. If the Starter spins it confirms the Relay is bad.

I hope my Solution gets you going and that you consider this helpful.

Could be a bad connection at battery, or started on its way out.

My 95 Honda Passport won't start

If you don't hear a click when you turn key to Start, check that the small wire onto the starter solenoid has a good connection. If you do hear the click, check that the large wire going between solenoid and battery has good connections..hope this helps.

Starting problem in a '97 dodge ram diesel

Could be the solenoid on the starter. Next time it doesn't start, hit the starter with a hammer or other hard object, then try to start it. If it starts, replace the starter before it leaves you stranded

Intermittent starting, 95 dodge 2500 diesel

check battery cables for tightness, and you may have a loose wire to the starter, worst case scenario u will need to rebuild the starter when it gets to the point were it just wont start
