Hi there, I have 04 mazda 6 also. this problem happened to me. I have electrical experiance so opened up the remote on the key ring. What I found was the small microswitch had liberated from the circuit board. The microswitch is about 4 by 6mm rectangle. I mounted cuircit board in vice and soldered (carefully) the switch back to the board. This worked perfectly. Any electrcian or appliance repair person could do this. The mazda dealer here wanted $300 to replace remote. I hope this helps. PS Check the remote batteries first.

The driver's door won't open. It appears that the handle latch might be broken. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. All the other doors and trunk work from remote.

If the drivers door on your 2004 Mazda 6 does not open from the inside or the outside then chances are the lock/latch assembly is jammed or you might need to replace it. In order to get the door open the inside door trim will most likely need to be at least partially removed to access the inner workings of the door. This is no easy task as the panel is designed to be removed with the door open. If care and patience are used this can generally be done without major damage to the inside door trim panel.

I have a Mazda 6 04, and both of my keyless remotes are not working , mazda says that it may be the reciever on the car, but for the diagnosis mazda wants to charge me 99.00 . How much will a reciever for...

Take both of your remotes to a parts house and they will check them for free at the battery display. If the remotes are good I would go to Best Buy and see what they suggest, new alarm, ect. I know it will be cheaper than mazda.

Program remote control for mazda mpv 2002

Courtesy of: forums.mazdaworld.org

Try this, it works on several 2002 models:

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the drivers door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the drivers door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done
