Drain plug on a 96 dodge intrepid car radiator

You must get under the car to see it, it is on the back side (faces engine) of the side tank of the radiator, it is usually on the drivers side but not always. It is a plastic valve and the head of the drain valve looks like a old clock winding key.

How do i change the water pump on a 96 dodge intrepid

If its a 2.7L, you have to remove the intake and valve covers. You 'll have to remove the radiator core support and radiator. You'll have to remove the drive belts and balancer. Then you remove the timing cover and make sure the timing chains are lined up. The water pump is located in the middle of the front of the engine behind the timing cover. This job really isn't a good thing to attempt if your a basic home mechanic. This is a very complicated job. If the timing chains aren't lined up perfectly, you can bend every valve in the engine on start up. Then it gets expensive.
