Car was smooth up to about 45mph then starts bucking un load; then it lost all power and quit. It would not start after that.

Computer just indicated intermittent miss. replaced plugs wires coil pack, and injector 1. It also indicated #1 injector was misfiring. There was a lot of carbon on plugs 1& 2.Cleaned the EGR.

Why is my car shaking

Short answer: If it quits shaking when you let off of the gas pedal, it is likely an engine misfire.

Long answer: I believe your model is new enough for the transmission to have a lock-up torque converter.
At around 40-45mph, the torque converter locks, making a solid connection between engine and transmission.
When this happens, any engine misfire is more readily felt throughout the car during acceleration.
The first items to check would be spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coils. These are most likely to act up under load conditions such as acceleration.

On the other hand, if you let off of the gas pedal and the car still shakes, it is probably a tire or wheel problem.

Lost power andquit. wont start

2 possible problems here. remember to always look at the inexpensive first.
That would be the ignition control module, which is held on by 2 screws beneath the distributor cap. the dielectric grease used in mounting drys out and causes it to over heat and burn out. cost about 35 bucks...10 mins. to install.
that is what i think your issue is...as fords from88-92 are notorious for it.

second possibility is that you have a bad ECM...and though takes 10 mins to install will set you back aboy 125 bucks.

Did you ever give the car a tune up?? if the check engine light is on have the codes pulled at autozone or advance its free and post the codes here. Then we can have somewhere to start.
It ccould be any number of things by the year of your car it could be a catalytic converter, but that is assuming. have the codes pulled.
