What is the part that i need to fix my car. shifter stuck in park

Need to have it diagnosed . More then one part involved . Electrical system , Safety . won't allow shifter to move unless driver is pushing the brake pedal . Switch on top of brake pedal linkage , lock out solenoid , electrical wiring , may even have a control module . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.
Shifter won move

How do you tighten gear lever on cortina 1600e thanks

Inspect Linkage between shifter and transmission. Determine where the sloppy looseness is. Replace sloppy linkage parts if transmission lever is not loose. Pray you don't need to have shifter leverage (inside transmission) repaired.

Shifter linkage failure on 2001 Chevrolet Venture

check the linkage on the transmission, i have heard of the shift cables breaking if there is a lot of weight against the parking pin such as parking on a hill without first applying the emergency brake before placing it in park.

2003 ford transit turbo manual gearbox, stuck in 2nd gear, cant start

does the clutch push normally or is the linkage broken not disengaging clutch, and then does shifter move around or locked and wont move, loose linkage in shifter or gears are jammed inside transmission and something went, if shifter wont move at all then trans is jammed inside and needs repair.

1997 t100 6cyl. 4wd. went through phase of actually having to put into drive to start. then had to turn ignition and move shifter through all gears until it started. now nothing. indicator lights seem to...

the shifter linkage has become loose or shifted and not aligning properly, truck will only start in park or neutral.
the linkage needs to be realigned and repaired. this should be done at a professional level. the alignment is critical, if it is near shift point it can pop from park to reverse, or change gear suddenly causing an accident or transmission damage.
