Turn your key to the off position. If you look at the bass of the cilinder ther is a white clip. Remove the clip it jest pulls out. After doing so you should see a black screw remove the screw and your lock cilinder should pull right out

You can only push this detent pin in when ignition is in on position try to put key that snapped in and wriggle it around to try and turn ignition to on position so then you can remove barrel
if cant turn need to change whole assembly by un doing shear pin for clamp that holds whole assembly on steering column or do what some lock smiths do drill out old barrel slowly and going up in drill sizes until barrel comes out from housing without damaging housing

NO I HAVE A LX470 WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN IT TURNS ALL THE WAY OVER WITHOUT MAKING CONTACT.INSIDE THE IGNITION CASING BEHIND THE SWITCH,THE LINKAGE SEEM TO BE BROKEN.How do i repair this problem?

The ignition crank shaft is broken inside the Steering Column Lock Assy. You will need to buy a new assy (cost appr. $202.21) and 2 steering lock bolts (cost appr. $4.96 ea) at a Toyota or Lexus dealer. Call either dealer for best price and availability. To replace you'll need to remove the black snap-on panel below speedometer then remove the screws securing the driver side dash. Behind the dash is a steel plate. Remove that and remove the steering column covers by turning the steering wheel to access the screws. You'll see that the SCLA is secured by 2 break-away bolt (this is an anti-theft feature). Use a dremel tool with cutting disc to make a notch in the screw head to remove with a flathead screwdriver. If this doesn't work your other option is to cut the bolts where the assy bolts together. Remove the broken SCLA and remove the key FOB and install into new SCLA. If your mechanically incline this should take about 2-3 hrs. and save you $300-400 in labor cost.

Key wont turn

Sometimes you can jiggle the steering wheel left and right really hard while trying to turn the key. To change the ignition switch or tumblers you have to remove the steering wheel. Then remove the pressure plate and turn signal switch then you should see the ignition switch. There is usually a pin that you have to pull to release the switch. If I am missing a step it is due to my failing memory. Once you pull the steering wheel, just keep pulling until you get to the switch. Sorry for lack of instuction, I have fibromyalgia and can't remember much anymore. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

My key broke in the switch can switch be saved

Yes, you need to remove the steering wheel and the wheel lock collar then remove the signal switch plate.....on the left side of the steering shaft there is a single screw remove it and the ignition switch will slide out(you may need to rotate the switch to the run position.)then you should be able to push the broken part of the key out..........you may need to drill a small hole in the bottom of the cylinder and use a small screw driver to push the broken key out
hope this helps.....Good Luck!
