I have a question about my 92 Grand Prix 3.1 with 70,000 miles. I recently replaced the fuel filter and now, I'm not able to start the car. It cranks, but will not fire up. I've noticed that I'm not getting fuel in the vavles. I pulled the spark plug from the vavle and there were no trace of fuel. Just empty and clean. I have sparks, checked for fuel pressure and it's good. Can anyone give me some suggestions to my problems? Thanks

Good fuel pressure, but none to the cylinders? Check the injector circuit. All injectors will have battery voltage to them with the key on. A "noid light" can be used to check both power and ground. The light should be blinking when the engine is cranked. Noid lights are cheap, and just plug into an injector connector. If it blinks with the engine cranking over, the circuit is good-both power and ground.

its the security, turn the key to off but leave it in, then open and close the door, then puch the lock door button on your driver side door, then try to start it, the light should stop blinking and all should be fine

Is the security light on? If you have spark and fuel, it should run. Any codes? Could be bad crank sensor or cam sensor.

SOURCE: I have a 97 grand prix. It won't start. It seems

Check the cam and crank sensors, If no pulse is detected the ECM will not fire the coils. Check your wireing harness at ECM and terminal conectors. Check your ground at coil packs...Last but not least...possible bad ECM.
Good luck...i hope this helps.

You may want to have the catalytic convertor checked out. it may need to be replaced. They can cause a car to run hotter and have poor acceleration to the point that the transmisssion won't shift. Also fuel filter could cause this but not usually. Hope this helps please leave comment.

My 1999 grand prix stalls and dies at stops.

My Pontiac Grand Prix is also a 99, it has 216,+ thousand miles on it, it runs great, idles good, I need to replace the oxygen sensor tho as it shuts off on me while driving or sometimes coming to a stop. You might try checking the fuel filter and pump as well.

Did you check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail? with key in the on position to activate the pump? If you did and there was no pressure I would first check for the obvious, gas in the tank, leaking fuel from a line, check for flow before the fuel filter, located at the rear of the vehicle near the gas tank. take the fuel pressure line off put it in a catch can and have somebody turn the key to the on position to activate the pump, if it flows chances are the filter is plugged. Also pay attention to the sound of the pump if it is very loud there is a good chance the pump is failing and needs to be replaced. It could also explain why sometimes it dies. The pump is going out of range. Hope this helps
