How to takethe bonnet off ford transit with broken cable

You would need to reach out Ford or local dealer to have the key replaced if you believe updating it will help open the bonnet. You can Ford at 020 3564 444 . If you need help opening the bonnet, please consult your Ford dealer or a locksmith.

U cud go in from grill..if tools will fit..mite need to break somethings. Call a junkyard or wreckr srvice for sometips..may hav to git mobile mech or shop

you will have to come up in front of the radiator with a long lever and push the latch lever sideways . Use a friend to push down on the bonnet as you push the lever as it will release the pressure on the latch and make it easier to move.

Has to be under the bonnet somewhere like with a big plastic cover on it what about under the drivers seat as thats another favourite place as ford do not like paying for parts so its sure to have the shortest run of cable possible from the battery to the starter motor ,under the floor pan even ?? cant beat a 1966 transit with the 2lt V4 engine ,a decent tune up and it could outrun any old panda car except the V8 rover lowline of course

titen the cables at batt posts and maybe at the starter motor--cud be corrosion also--the starter may be a lemon--ask dealer or go online for any service bullitins

CUT BACK THE COVERING ON THE BROKEN RELEASE HANDLE CABLE TO EXPOSE THE INNER CABLE WIRE CORE AND WITH A PAIR OF LOCKING PLIERS LIKE VISE GRIPS PULL ON THAT CABLE WIRE CORE WHILE SOMEONE PUSHES DOWN ON THE HOOD/BONNET OVER THE AREA WHERE THE HOOD LATCH IS LOCATED TO RELEASE THE SPRING TENSION ON THE LATCH
