I have always left my headlights on the automatic setting, but recently noticed that they no longer turn off during the day. What is the most likely cause?

It should be a manual feature. If you look near the actual light switch there should be something that says either off or has a circle on it. The problem with wanting your daytime running lights off while driving is that you have to turn them off everytime you drive. Hope this helps.

If it has nothing on or near the headlight, then there may not be a way to turn them off. There are some cars out there that have the auto light feature, but that also do not have a way to turn them off while driving. While it is a hassle to have them on, they have helped me in the past. Near where I live we have this highway corridor that is a death trap. Law states to have your headlights on and if I do not have to turn them on myself I can spend more time watching for people who think they can talk on the phone and drive 100 at the same time.

Not a problem. I just wish that I had out right helped you with your problem. I cn contact a Lincoln dealer and see if there is a way to turn them off and let you know what i find out of that is what you want. Because I am not working it is not an inconvenience in any way.

I have a 2500hd silverado 02 6.0L light above bumper I think its a driving light but my driving lights are my low beam head lights how do I get them to come on?

Okay those lights are called your driving lights. they only come on during the day, when headlights are off, they are for safety. i know this would drive me crazy, a customer would come in and say i have a light out and i would check and all was fine. the way it works is during the day, headlights off and truck must be in drive,

you will need some one inside holding the brake and put in drive with headlights off for you to see them and see if they need bulbs. let me know the outcome .good day

Headlights go out while driving

You need to check the headlight relay to see if it is still good. Parts store can tell you where it should be and what the part number is when you find it. A good shop will be able to test it. I have found that Volvo likes to play hide the relay under the dash so it's hard to say for sure where it will be.

DRL and High Beam do not work right on Honda Accord EX 1998

Some time back I found some data on a similar website suggesting that the Day Light Running circuit board, just under the steering column, developed cracks in some of the soldered joints. Your high beams should also be affected with loss of day light running lights.
Resoldering repaired the continuity of the circuits. Ours is now working quite reliably. Some of the defective areas developed slight brownish discoloration, that's how I was told to recognise the areas to be resoldered. Hope this will help you solve your problem.
