Nissan Sentra won't move.

2001 5 speed suddenly won't move. Goes into gear, rpm's go up. Is it the clutch or master cylinder or what? There was no warning at all.

Most likly needs a new clutch. but before you do that make shore the clutch slave cylinder is releasing.Do this by opening the bleed screw on the clutch slave cylinder. If there is preasure released when you do his you may have a stuck master cylinder. Not likly but worth the trouble to try

low fluid indicates a loss of fluid so top it up Check the slave cylinder for leaks at the piston . If ok replace the clutch master cylinder as the compensating port is blocking and not allowing the fluid to return to the reservoir and is holding the clutch off.

My 2001 Honda civic will not move Its a five speed and the shifter goes into any gear without pressing the clutch in When I do put it into gear and try to move it just rolls like its in neutral Clutch?

Not necessarily. Check that the clutch slave cylinder is not being held in the disengaged position by a blocked clutch master cylinder. Check this by opening the bleed nipple and if the clutch arm moves to engage the clutch then replace the clutch master cylinder as the compensating port is blocked.

Hydraulic clutch in a 2001 nissan altima gxe 5 speed manual

Open the hood and look for the clutch master cylinder.
It is smaller than the brake master cylinder, but should be very near it.
The clutch master cylinder is about half the size of the brake master cylinder.
Take the lid off and see if it is full.
If it is empty, the likely problem is the slave cylinder (which is mounted on the transmission at the other end of the brake fluid line), has failed and needs to be replaced.
It will likely not do any good to fill the clutch master cylinder, as you will trap air in the line.
The slave cylinder will need to be replaced, and the line bled to get the air out.
Be blessed.

1997 nissan altima 5 speed manual transmission will not shift, is it the clutch, master cylinder or slave cylinder?

first check to see if you have any fluid in the clutch master cylinder which is mounted by the firewall on l/h side of car. if fluid is inthere, follow the line/hose to the transmission. this line/hose goes to slave cylinder mounted somewhat on the front/top of trans with 2 bolts. that is the slave. have someone push the clutch as you are watching the slave cylinder for operation. it should move with clutch beeing pressed. if it doesnt move than you have a hydraulic issue/leaking master cylinder. if it moved nicely, tha i would be looking at the clutch.

My problem is that the manual transmission is stuck in 4th gear. I was backing up when I went to put it into 1st the shifter was stuck. The clutch works to disengage the gears but the shifter won't...

That cylinder is known as the clutch slave cylinder. It should push against the clutch fork every time the clutch pedal is depressed to allow gear changes. If it doesn't, suspect a faulty slave cylinder, or clutch master cylinder.

Could be that you have a faulty clutch slave or master cylinder. Check for fluid levels and leaks. If the clutch is not working correctly even the shifter goes into gears, it look like its not engaging all the and just popping out.

Nissan clutch problem

If your not able to shift into any gear that means your clutch is not engage/disengaging. Check for fluid leaks, you said topped off and fluid levels were low? It sounds like you have a Slave cylinder or master cylinder leak, if its leaking its bet to replace both.
