The expansion valve (TX valve) will be in the pipe immediately before the evaporator in the sleeper. To do any work on it will require the system to be pumped down before and after the work

Chevy malibu 2005 3.5 a/c orface tube location

Yours has a

thermal expansion valve (TXV). no orifice tube . look at fire wall where the a/c pipes go in look for this part .

The thermal expansion valve is located in the liquid line between the condenser and the evaporator. The thermal expansion valve is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the thermal expansion valve, the pressure of the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential of the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the thermal expansion valve. The thermal expansion valve also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.

Expansion Valve

Follow the a/c lines to the firewall. The part they are attached to is the expansion valve. Once the a/c system is evacuated the lines can be removed from the expansion valve. The expansion valve can then be removed from the EVAP core.

Where is the expansion valve located on the 2004 KIA Sedona

Kia Sedona expansion FRONT valve located under dash, behind glove box, fan and coil. Evacuate freon first. Disconnect Freon lines from firewall., Lay right front seat back to flat horizontal position and lay on top or totally remove the seat for easier working access. Remove under dash cover, fan, glove box, coil housing, remove coil mounting bolts, remove old expansion valve. (Inspect old valve, if debris inside, blow out coil before installing new valve. If visible debris best to consider replacing REAR expansion valve and DRIER/FILTER in front of radiator too and blow out all lines and coils while servicing.) Use compressor oil to lubricate "O" rings on new FRONT or REAR expansion valve, install valve bolts, reinstall coil bolts to FRONT firewall or REAR frame, reconnect freon lines to firewall in engine compartment. Evacuate AC system, install freon (35 1/2 ounces, nominal 3 pounds), check system for leaks, check for proper operation, enjoy.

Where is the orifice tube located on 88 buick park avenue

Inspect/Test/Replace To raise pressure, there must be a restriction in the air conditioning system. The restriction divides the system into the high side and the low side. The terms high side and low side refer to the high pressure and low pressure within the system.
The flow control can be either an orifice tube or a metering device called an expansion valve. A thermostatic expansion valve controls the amount of refrigerant that is allowed to flow to the evaporator. A temperature sensing bulb on the evaporator inlet controls the expansion valve.
  • A bad expansion valve will cause low readings on both the low and high side.
  • Failure of the sensing bulb is the most common problem.
  • Sometimes the valve can become plugged with debris.
  • If the sensing capillary tube is warm, there is high pressure that pushes on the diaphragm.
  • The sensing bulb checks the temperature of the outlet line of the evaporator.
  • If it is warm, it opens the valve.
  • Pressure on top of the diaphragm tries to push the valve open.
  • The operation of the expansion valve can be checked.
  • Some expansion valves can be cleaned, repaired or adjusted.
f73-15a.gif This system uses an expansion valve as it's flow control device. Some expansion valves are wrapped with insulation. When the sensing bulb is in the evaporator case, it does not need to be wrapped because it stays cold. When an expansion valve is packed in that type of system, it is only to silence the noise that the evaporator makes.

CAUTION
Only EPA-certified technicians can purchase R-12 refrigerant, since proper recovery and recycling techniques are required to prevent damaging the environment. Improper disposal of R-12 refrigerant can result in a fine.

Where is the expansion valve on a 95 Lexus es300 and from which direction does one access it in order to replace it? Just purchased new compressor, drier and expansion valve, no problem with the first two...

It is attached to the back wall of evaporator. You have to remove the glove compartment, blower unit and evaporator to get access to the expansion valve.
