I just plugged in the new 400E ECU and am testing it. Sure the difference is subtle--even not noticeable, but I ...
ok, start working, take the fan first, the the belts and pulleys, then the water pump, male sure you replace the thermostat, and refill coolant level. let engine run until all the air comes out of the system.
probably fan clutch . but if your ac is on the fan should be on to. fan relay is located under the fuse box driver side under the hood. remove the fuse box and u will find the relays under. but there is a fan switch for the fan between the relay and the fan . . they even cheeper less than 20 bucks
I have an owner's manual for this 124 body sedan if you would like a copy. email me at [email protected] and I will send it right out. The fuse descriptions start on page 86.
I would check and make sure that the AC compressor clutch is kicking in. If it is then you are probably looking at a restriction somewhere in the system.
It is a straight forward procedure, but getting it around the fan is tight. Just put a wrench on the belt tensioner pulley, and pull up on it to loosen the belt. While holding the tensioner up, slip the belt off. Just make sure you draw a diagram of the belt routing, before taking it off.
Lift the hood. Just below the screen, opposite side from battery, you'll see a plastic cover shielding the engine management, abs control box etc. If you search around there after removing the shield/ cover you will find a relay with a fuse plugged into the top of it. This is the pump / system relay.
