I need a coolent temp sensor for 1979 Cad. Seville.,do anyone knows where to fine one

unlikely to be the coolant temperature sensor
more likely to be a failing electronic component like an ECM if EFI engine or an ignition control module failing for a component overheating internally
why I say this is because coolant temperatures take a long time to cool down but an electronic component that has no current flowing will cool quicker

Have an 86 cadillac seville which was ran dry on coolant and overheated. wife drove it the rest of the way home and told me that the cars overheating warning came on 3 or 4 times where she had to pullover...

possible blown head gaskets, warped heads, burnt valves.... all possible but not necessarily the case. repair leak source and if it runs ok you should be alright.

Need help starting the car after running out of gas

your fuel pump has failed from overheating, the pump is cooled by the gas it runs in, when u run out of gas or low on fuel many times this destroys the pump, replace the fuel pump.

False overheated 92 Seville STS

Coolant temperture sensor is the first thing to inspect.
With the engine off and cold.
Pull the connector and clean it.
Check is this the OE sensor. It will have on of the following number on it.
10045847; 12146312; 15321686; 15326386; 25036092; 25036708; 25036979; 25037182

Write any number down, You will help you to get the EXACT match in the auto part store.
The sensor is around $15.
If the contact cleaning does not help then just replace the coolant temperture sensor.
Use the water pump thread sealer to ensure proper seal.
After install the sensor, inspect for ANY coolant leak before put the vehicle back to service,
Please post more information or question on the comment window.
