Hi there..my name is Keith..and if you have a "Engine service" light on....then that only comes on if you have an emissions problem..and the fault codes needs to be read..you can go to any AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts..and they will read it for free..and you may have a problem..or it was just a computer glitch..but they can read the code and tell you what it is and clear the code..and if you think it was just a computer glitch..it will be OK..if not...it will come back on with in a 100 miles..and if the "Engine Service" light comes on ..then you need to have it fixed..i hope this helps

It must be something else making your check engine light come on.

Check your gas cap. If the gas cap is night fitted tightly, it can cause the service light to stay on.

My service enginee light came on this a.m. what does this mean I just had an oil change 2 weeks ago on my 2002 chevy trailblazer.

the service engine light is part of the on-board computer system, the reason the computer turned on the light is because it saw a fault in on of its control circuits or it saw a fault in one of its sensors, it could be as simple as the gas cap is not on tight enouf but you need to have the codes pulled from the on-board computer system you can have this done for free a auto-zone.

Service engine light

Light came on due to the engine computer pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensors, will have to get a code reading to know what's going on, most auto parts will do this service for free or some one like autozone, have it done and get back with us with the code number, so we can help you with your trouble code.

2002 kia rio rxv check engine light came on again..

the check engine light is not caused by any wrong fluid level or dirty air filter or anything else like that, it is caused by well over 100 faults that can occur in the computer controlled electronic engine and emission controls, u will need to go to a Kragen or Autozone parts store and get a free OBD 2 fault code test to get the code that set your light.

I got my oil changed about 2 1/2 weeks ago and about a week ago my car started running rough, i attributed it to maybe a tankful of bad gas. this morning the engine was knocking and i made a mental note...

I had Walmart give me an ambassador package oil change years ago on a grand am and the nimrods never tightened the filter and the same thing happened to me. Even though I put oil in the engine seized within 48 hrs. Good luck! Get your documents ready because whether or not your engine fails you will still want to sue the oil replacement service worker for subsequent damages due to negligence.

Engine light is on.

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon lights to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. Not fluid related, but could be a small problem that's easy to fix now. Even a loose gas cap can turn the light on. Have a code scan, that's the starting point.
