Question about 1989 Cadillac Seville
I have had this problem for 10 years, I had to hook up a manual cooling system by conecting two wires one from the batterie two grounds going to both cooling fans wired to the cabin of the car.I would love to eleviate this problem. I have changed two coolant sensors, control fan modual, checked all wires and conectors, fans motors are working properly when i overide in dash computer diognostic and have replaced all most every thing under the hood, and thousands of dallers later ,I still have a cooling fan fault display on my computer.I dont want to bring it in for a diognostic but i may have to... And im a do it your self person
I have one of these cars that had that problem. I fixed mine with a new fan control module. The fan wires can be hooked up backwards to the module when you replace it too. I have a service manual on this car and can answer most questions as I have helped a lot of people with this year model. I will look at which fan should be pluged into where later. You should never straight wire a cooling fan as this will result in other problems because the engine will not come up to normal temperature resulting in poor fuel mileage. This could result in a exhaust converter and o2 sensor failure due to a rich fuel mixture. Reply and I will get back to you asap.
